I LOVED King of Wrath.. but this one! Sadly very disappointing. The male narrator was awful! English is not my first language but even I could tell he was mixing all kinds of English accents and hoping to sound BRITISH!! It was painful to listen to.
The story wasn’t the best either. Predictable, cliche and boring!!

Ok story

The story was ok. I’d give it 4 out of 10. It’s the kind of story you would listen to while cleaning or cooking without paying much attention to it. Even if you missed 2-3 minutes of the narration, you won’t scroll back because you’re sure you didn’t miss anything crucial to the story.
At first, I liked that the heroin was nearly 40yo and honestly expected more depth into her life choices and the reason she is the way she is. I was disappointed by the end that the most exciting part of the story was her aunt’s duck!

Felt 100% real!

This is the first book in years that made me feel like I knew the characters in real life! I found parts of myself in Swan with her confidence issues, self doubt and desire to help and be there for everybody around her.
I also loved Nick, Julia’s description of him and his interactions with Swan was amazing! He seems like a person in real life not like all those fake hero’s who knew exactly what to say or do!
I particularly enjoyed their awkwardness with intimacy.. this is how it really is!
All in all, a wonderful book!
