Historia
The death of a ninety-year-old woman with a heart condition should not be suspicious. Detective Sergeant Harbinder Kaur certainly sees nothing out of the ordinary when Peggy’s caretaker, Natalka, begins to recount Peggy Smith’s passing. But Natalka had a reason to be at the police station: while clearing out Peggy’s flat, she noticed an unusual number of crime novels, all dedicated to Peggy. And each psychological thriller included a mysterious postscript: PS: for PS.

a quirky original

excellent narration of this story, with enough traditional elements to be a bit cozy, but plenty of original and unique plot elements and character development to make it stand out and keep you engaged.

When Aurelie decides to complete her father's unfinished serial novel, she must keep her identity as Nathaniel Droll hidden while searching for the truth about her mother's disappearance - and perhaps even her father's death.

Historia
Who hasn’t wondered for a split second what the world would be like if a person who is the object of your affliction ceased to exist? But then you’ve probably never heard of The McMasters Conservatory, dedicated to the consummate execution of the homicidal arts. To gain admission, a student must have an ethical reason for erasing someone who deeply deserves a fate no worse (nor better) than death. The campus of this “Poison Ivy League” college—its location unknown to even those who study there—is where you might find yourself the practice target of a classmate.

creative fun story, with excellent performances by NPH and Simon Vance. I think I would have enjoyed a print version of this novel ad well, but the performances of these two are not to be missed.

Enjoyable, immersive, period mystery
Revisado: 02-26-23
enjoyed this atmospheric read, set in Gilded Age NYC. I found the voice acting was great and and the prose and storyline were engaging and seemed to have enough historic and scientific accuracy to keep the reader immersed in the period, making the setting almost a character itself.

a solid debut
Revisado: 12-13-22
overall, I enjoyed this novel. there were some slightly uneven parts, like what I heard as unnecessarily long adjective descriptions sometimes, and a few descriptions of the Cloisters and NYC that felt off, and jarred me out of the narrative. some of the characters were unlikable but I felt that was integral to the story and I liked them written that way. a few smaller characters I thought could have been more developed, since I found myself a few times trying to figure out who they were in the story. a strong debut and I will look for other fiction by this author in the future.
