The acting is SUPERB... everything else, just isn't. The heroine was, to me, irritating and not endearing. I had a very hard time connecting to her at all. Emotions were flipping all over the place it was painful trying to keep up. I don't recommend it, but to each his/her own.

I loved the first book. As soon as I finished it I had to read this one. And though it was hard, I loved the first section. Then everything fell apart in act two. Personal preference probably, but I actually lost all connection with the heroine. Still loved the male though. I groaned every time Adeline took over the narrative in part two. I had to force myself to finish because it felt so off. Her arc just didn't work for me. And the Harlequin feel to some of the characters really bored me. The action was okay, but it lost a lot of the tension that the first story had. The subject matter is so important and it needs to be talked about. Both readers did a marvelous job at making the characters feel real, especially Teddy Hamilton. His performance was visceral. I loved the richness of his role. He nailed it, sometimes you could hear the warble of emotion as he fit into the character he portrayed. For me, he was the draw. :) 5 stars on performance, 3 on the other two. But act one... would get a 5 if act two was better.

This subject is so hard to take in, but Frakl is a master in description. With his spiritual, almost scientific approach to looking at the behavior of all (Victims, perps, and bystanders), he shines a light on the fundamentals of human conditioning, survival, strength, and spirit. This book is a tome in my library. I have multiple copies and each one has been read over and over again.

Who doesn't love Scotland,, the brogue, and men in plaids, and getting a sneaky peek into what Robert De Bruce may have been like.... nice. I love the history. The story inspired me to do some research on my own and revisit a violent time in our worlds past. Monica McCarty's telling is rich with historical reference and inspiring women of strength and courage.

Used to read all the Montgomery/Taggart stories. Recall hitting the book stores every six months looking for latest and newest. Have only found a few of the original Romance series on Audible. Would love, love, love to see more. and she wrote so many. Deveraux manages to capture archetypal men, and great heroines and follows the lineage through history from the middle ages to the nineteen eighties. I would love to see more of the classics. with new narrators.

Okay, I loved this book. Fell in love with the characters, laughed, and cried my eyes out when the back story was revealed. Damn.... The two narrators delivered it. Sebastian York is now an immediate go to for one of my favs.

Struggled to finish. Had a very difficult time connecting with the leading lady. Not sure if it is the narrator or the character development. The men in the story kept me interested and instilled a need to finish. Like Cole as an Alpha Dom.

Donna Grant is a master. I've never become so involved in a series of stories before. Each book ends with such greatness I'm eager and giddy for the next instalment to come out. Who knew that the supernatural could be so heart pounding. The suspense is killing me... lol

Any additional comments?

I really loved this story... the narrator was too forceful with his voice. It almost felt like an assault sometimes. I would love to hear this with a different narrator. because I really loved the story.

Would you listen to Forbidden Love again? Why?

Pride & Prejudice, Jane Eyre, and Gone with the Wind all in one story... Made me look at my bookshelf for some old Karen Robards favorites that I have there. Yes I would listen to this again.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Forbidden Love?

The cat and mouse play as well as the contrast of naivete to carnal knowledge and the situations it created.

What about James Clamp’s performance did you like?

Yes I enjoyed it very much. Wish I could find Nobody's Angel with the same narrator :)

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Classic Robards with a Jane Austin Feel....

Any additional comments?

Miss some of the older style historical romances such as this. Everything has gone so supernatural and other worldly. This type of romance was my first love (So to speak)
