Historia
Cilka was only 16 years old when she was taken to Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp, in 1942. The Commandant at Birkenau, Schwarzhuber, noticed her long beautiful hair, and forced her separation from the other women prisoners. Cilka did what she had to in order to survive Auschwitz. And yet after Russian soldiers liberated Auschwitz in 1945, Cilka was charged as a collaborator and sentenced to serve a 15-year sentence for 'sleeping with the enemy'. Once again, she found herself on a brutal train journey, crammed into a carriage with many desperate women and children.

Thank you sharing this story
Revisado: 10-26-21
Thank you for giving us an insight to these prisons/camps. Despite being forced to do what she needed to survived she was punished for it. So very sad but she endured and made it through. Thank you for giving life to their stories as so many have untold ones. I really enjoyed it so much that I want to learn more about it. I also enjoyed the further insight afterwards

Historia
The Tattooist of Auschwitz is based on the true story of Lale and Gita Sokolov, two Slovakian Jews who survived Auschwitz and eventually made their home in Australia. In that terrible place, Lale was given the job of tattooing the prisoners marked for survival - literally scratching numbers into his fellow victims' arms in indelible ink to create what would become one of the most potent symbols of the Holocaust.

How far would you go
Revisado: 02-27-20
I loved this book how far would one go to protect and find, wow the narrator did an excellent job I felt sad when the story as I wanted it to continue. Such a beautiful story I become so engrossed in it I was in tears at the end. Really on of the best I've read/listened in a long time. I love the theme of the author she builds and keeps you waiting and the revelation in the end leaves you speechless

A Beautiful Story
Revisado: 08-16-16
What did you love best about Me Before You?
The way the story developed and the twist and turns it took and the awakening
Who was your favorite character and why?
Louisa, she thought she was helping Will to only discover that in turn he was helping her
Which scene was your favorite?
In the end where they spent time alone and were just with each other it was so beautiful
If you could take any character from Me Before You out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Definitely Louisa as she is so quirky and bubbly and always thinks of something to say, she is a conversation starter. I would also like to see what she would wear, I would hope that its those bee tights lol
Any additional comments?
Even though you knew what needed to happen you hope that maybe it would not and when it finally did it was so beautiful and you felt the pain the joy, the freedom and the love in the characters
