Historia
At the age of nine, Johnnie lost everything. A quiet, normal child, his life forever changed when his family was attacked by a blood-crazed vampire, leaving his parents dead and Johnnie an orphan. Now grown, he is the cold, proud, beautiful - but very human - son of the Dracula Desrosiers, who took him in after the tragedy that befell Johnnie's parents. Constantly kept apart for being human, Johnnie chooses to bury himself in the two things he most loves - books and mysteries.

Love the book, and Morey brought it all to life perfectly
Revisado: 04-25-19
I actually read the stories out of order , reading this one first and I am so glad. This story makes more sense to me. The way each chapter was a separate story, though all of them are tied together, was a neater than the first book. Plus I LOVE Johnnie and Grim!!! Reading this book first helped me make sense of the Dance With The Devil book. Sounds weird, but it worked for me. The narrator was really good and I am glad to hear he did the first book too because that is my next Audible purchase. M. Derr writes very unique stories that are always engaging, great romance and rarely can you put them down. This series is my favorite!

The best narrator for this remarkable series!!
Revisado: 04-28-18
Would you listen to The Lightning-Struck Heart again? Why?
Yes, I have listened to it so many times and I have M. Lesley in my head exclaiming "The coooorn!" when I need a pick me up and a laugh. I eagerly await his narration for each new book when they come out.
What about Michael Lesley’s performance did you like?
He is the BEST! My other favorite narrator was Jim Dale, because he brought Harry Potter to life like no one else could have. M. Lesley is the same for this series. He is uniquely talented at making each individual character recognizable by a simple word. You don't have to hear "said Gary "...you just know it is Gary as soon as he starts talking. He is also the best because these voices stay in your head, and as you ready each new book (without narration) you hear his voice exclaiming "We're gonna hug" - without even thinking about it. The mark of a good narrator, they make the characters unique and they stay with you.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YES...and listen to again and again.

Historia
Trapped in rural Steeple Bumpleigh, a man less stalwart than Bertie Wooster would probably have given way at the knees. For among those present were Florence Craye, to who Bertie had once been engaged...and her new fiance 'Stilton' Cheesewright, who regarded Bertie as a snake in the grass...also Zenobia Hopwood and her guardian Lord Worplesdon, whose violent antipathy to 'Boko' Fittleworth amounted to obsession...and that biggest blot on the landscape, Edwin the Boy Scout.

Great story & reader, quality is not wonderful!
Revisado: 08-22-05
I fell in love with Wodehouse after hearing "Code of the Woosters" and ran back to Audible to get the rest of the series (especially with Cecil reading). I was disappointed when hearing these more expensive BBC recordings. My download was of poor quality, and often there were pockets of severe static (at MP3 quality). BUT, all in all the story is wonderful and the reader (in my opinion) is one of the best for Wooster and Jeeves.

Funny....entertaining. Great humor!

I loved this book, and have no idea what took me so long to listen/read it. Reminds me of Python humor that I love so much. I laughed so much on the freeway, I KNOW that people thought I was having an attack or something. <smile>
