Historia
The only life Tress has known on her island home in an emerald-green ocean has been a simple one, with the simple pleasures of collecting cups brought by sailors from faraway lands and listening to stories told by her friend Charlie. But when his father takes him on a voyage to find a bride and disaster strikes, Tress must stow away on a ship and seek the Sorceress of the deadly Midnight Sea. Amid the spore oceans where pirates abound, can Tress leave her simple life behind and make her own place sailing a sea where a single drop of water can mean instant death?

I want to hear the rest of some of these readings. You cropped some when they were just getting to the good part.
You should really consider making this a periodical that customers can choose to subscribe to and receive volumes over time.
Perhaps just a "word of the day"that's included in full as part of the channels service offering.

Can't get enough of "The Pillars"
Revisado: 07-22-15
Campbell does a wonderful job of bridging the gap between fantasy and science fiction with an art comparable to some of the classic genre cross-overs. His ability to do so in a way that is engaging and accessible to a wide age range is a plus.
If you've listened to the first two books, then this one is a must.
If you are debating whether you want to pick up this series, this one is definitely worth your time.
************Maybe a Vague Spoiler************
The excitement and "big reveals" in this installment make up for the open ended and unresolved world-builder lose ends that you have to speculatively endure through the first two books. This one has a big pay off to anyone hoping this series will take a sci-fi twist.

The lighter side of war (Spoilers)
Revisado: 05-12-15
My assessment of this series can be summarized in two statements:
1) Every solution that the protagonists attempt is - with no exception - a complete success.
2) Every problem the protagonists encounter is solved on the first attempt.
The characters can't fail, have no flaws, and in that way are totally one dimensional.
I very much enjoyed many aspects of the series:
- the realism of interpersonal relationships between the officers of the fleet
- the respect for phisical laws
- the accurate degree to which the fleet is dependent on critical software
- cliff-hanging combat maneuvers
I just wish the characters had experienced more failure - needed to try several solutions before succeeding.
When everything the characters try always works, it's difficult to empathize with them,

And at the feet of its wise Masters, Lanoree Brock learned the mysteries and methods of the Force - and found her calling as one of its most powerful disciples. But as strongly as the Force flowed within Lanoree and her parents, it remained absent in her brother, who grew to despise and shun the Je’daii, and whose training in its ancient ways ended in tragedy. Now, from her solitary life as a Ranger keeping order across the galaxy, Lanoree has been summoned by the Je’daii Council on a matter of utmost urgency.

Revisado: 03-03-15
There's so much backstory in the SW universe. This series starts to delve into it, but just scratches the surface. Ultimately this first book in the series raise more questions than answers. It took a feat of self-control to keep myself off of Wookiepedia while reading.

Great second installment
Revisado: 01-16-15
Book two lives up to the expectations generated by the success of the first novel in this series (Steelheart). I appreciate how Sanderson challenges the main character with both episodic obstacles and larger series-level mysteries. The combination keeps the reader engaged in the current plot and eager to grab the next book in the series to find out more answers to the big questions: What gave the epics powers? Why? Is there a secret to discovering Epics' weaknesses? Can epics be saved from their own distructive natures? I want to know now!
