You can definitely tell they started using a ghost writer after book 3, the story gets progressively worse and worse, I do not DNF many books but I probably will not finish this book or read the last one.
the narration is decent

Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.

I absolutely love this series.
Revisado: 03-25-22
I don't understand why everyone was throwing a fit about this. yes some of the writing is a bit lacking but as a whole the story is consistent, and I thoroughly enjoy this series. THE ENDING THOUGH!!!!
Rated Performance 4 cause there was an error where Stina said the wrong name and the way she says Eather every time she draws it out. There are some points I just switched to Kindle because of it. Other than that both Narrations are really good.

Emma Saylor doesn’t remember a lot about her mother, who died when Emma was 12. But she does remember the stories her mom told her about the big lake that went on forever, with cold, clear water and mossy trees at the edges. Now, it’s just Emma and her dad, and life is good, if a little predictable...until Emma is unexpectedly sent to spend the summer with her mother’s family, whom she hasn’t seen since she was a little girl.

no meat.
Revisado: 11-12-21
While this book had a great beginning and great end, the in-between lacked. It ends the way I want it to, but there's absolutely no lead up to it other than the MC making small comments here and there.
The MC has little to no interactions with the other characters and if she does we don't get the full scenes just the MC thinking about them.
It only really ever goes into detail to talk about her dead mother, and how rich her dad and grandma are, other than that it's very small on descriptions.
It could've been written better, I definitely would not recommend this book to anyone, but the narrator is good.

There was and there was not, as all stories begin, a princess cursed to be poisonous to the touch. But for Soraya, who has lived her life hidden away, apart from her family, safe only in her gardens, it's not just a story. As the day of her twin brother's wedding approaches, Soraya must decide if she's willing to step outside of the shadows for the first time. Below in the dungeon is a demon who holds knowledge that she craves, the answer to her freedom.

a real struggle to finish.
Revisado: 08-15-21
this book has been recommended on every social media platform where people said they couldn't put it down/away.
I was the opposite, the first quarter-half of the book was decent but then it just went downhill from there.
It was fast paced but not in the good way, in the way rushed sort of way. It's somehow detailed and not detailed all at once.
by time I finished it (two weeks later because I did NOT want to finish it) my conclusion is people on praise it cause the main character appears to be bisexual or lesbian.

If it weren't for the title it'd be 5 star.
Revisado: 08-13-21
The title is VERY misleading. They don't really every talk about "people they meet on vacation" til almost the end, a few here and there but only as plot devices. If the whole book were like the final chapter it'd make sense, and still be a good book, but it's not like that.
The story itself is great, certain things could've been explained better or in more detail, certain things were a little unrealistic or didn't make much sense, But I still absolutely loved it, I love the main characters so much.

Not worth it IMO.
Revisado: 06-12-21
The fact it's synopsis is that it's a novella, but then listed like a book in the series irritates me. Most of it is just talking about Winter Solstice and what to get everyone, and then it does nothing more than to push the next book in the series with how often she talks about Nesta and how badly effed up Nesta is after everything.
IMO, A Court of Silver Flames, which is the 5th book, shouldn't even be part of the series and should be a spin off series. but SJM and trying to force all her series to be 7 books long.
and this narrator sucks compared to Elizabeth Evans who narrates all ofSJM books except this series.

Don't let the Synopsis fool you.
Revisado: 06-12-21
It's a murder mystery + Fantasy + modern.
We should all know by now not to get attached to characters in the first books of her series, yet she has a way of making you do just that, getting attached, then ripping your heart out and stomping on it.
I loved it so much and can't form the words on how or why. It's definitely a slow build, but I'm the type that prefers that rather than just everything happening so fast you get whiplash.
I think this would be a great standalone book so I'm very confused on how she's going to make this a series.
I'm also confused on how this is considered "adult" fantasy , i'm pretty sure the only things that made this adult is the age of the characters being 25+ and the MC talking about dildos and sex. Other than that I don't get it.
And obviously anything narrated by Elizabeth Evans is going to sound great.

I really liked it
Revisado: 06-12-21
Royal fantasy. King, Court, and his subjects PLUS a little bit of magic (not too much if that isn't your thing)
It was decent. but after she meets the king you kind of forget about the fact she wants to kill him unless she specifically says "I'm not supposed to do this I'm supposed to kill the king!", and her motives were just not it, there was very little depth and I think that's just due to the fact that it's a smaller standalone book.
Other than that I really enjoyed it and might actually read it again! I definitely think it's worth a read if you have no idea what to read next and need a few days or so (depending on how fast you listen to audiobooks) you should definitely give it a shot.

The good news: Zoey's friends have her back again and Stevie Rae and the red fledglings aren't Neferet's secrets any longer. The bad news: Ancient evil with the face of an angel has been let loose - that and various other nasties (whose faces aren't so angelic). Grandma Redbird is in trouble. Heath is in trouble. The House of Night is in trouble. Okay, let's face it - Zoey's whole world is in trouble!

Actual Plot???
Revisado: 06-12-21
This is where the story starts to actually get pretty decent. There's actual plot of some sort in it at this point. The only character I'm actually listening for at this point is Aphrodite, and that's saying something. Everyone else is annoying and whiny.
I wrote reviews for 2 other books but they wont post for some reason,
Sometimes book cowritten are wonderful and fluid. This series so far, is not. It's very obvious, The main character is definitely one of those "It's only okay if I do it" type things. Hates bullying, but allows her friends to, up until she realizes that their Goddess NYX has clear plans for Aphrodite, everyone is plain rotten to her, Understandably, but for a person and group who constantly talk crap about the fact that Aphrodite is a bully and they hate bullies, to then bully the person when it's clear they were/are going through some shit.
I wish instead of making this like a 12 book series or whatever, that the authors/publishers/editors, took a little more time with editing and reviewing, and possibly just taken their time with this instead of just thrusting out what reads like a first draft of something.

Life sucks when your friends are pissed at you. Just ask Zoey Redbird. In one week she has gone from having three boyfriends to having none, and from having a close group of friends who trusted and supported her to being an outcast. Speaking of friends, the only two Zoey has left are undead and unMarked. And Neferet has declared war on humans, which Zoey knows in her heart is wrong.

Horrible
Revisado: 06-10-21
Narration sucks. I was just getting used to the previous narrator then they switch to someone who sounds whiny. Then I see they switch them again in a few books.
I'm pushing through to finish this series but it's hard when everytime they mention Damian, they always have to some way, shape, or form mention he's gay and find ways to use the word fag.
Half the time it doesnteven read like a story, it reads like the author's opinions then randomly throw character names in there to make it seem like a story.
Finally getting to parts of an actual plot. They should've probably just done some heavy editing because half the time all the books so far go in depth explaining everything that happened in the previous book. Why spend most of several chapters explaining what happened in previous books????
I don't understand the hype of these books
