Historia
Connie Chung is a pioneer. In 1969 at the age of 23, this once-shy daughter of Chinese parents took her first job at a local TV station in her hometown of Washington, D.C. and soon thereafter began working at CBS news as a correspondent. Profoundly influenced by her family’s cultural traditions, yet growing up completely Americanized in the United States, Chung describes her career as an Asian woman in a white male-centered world.

Historia
Following the events of Kristallnacht in 1938, Peter Fleischmann evaded the Gestapo’s roundups in Berlin by way of a perilous journey to England on a Kindertransport rescue, an effort sanctioned by the UK government to evacuate minors from Nazi-controlled areas. But he could not escape the British police, who came for him in the early hours and shipped him off to Hutchinson Camp on the Isle of Man, under suspicion of being a spy for the very regime he had fled.

Revisado: 10-07-24
I enjoyed and was very interested in this little known true story of German refugees living in England and youth brought to England in the Kinder transport who were imprisoned on the Isle of Man during WW2.
It was well researched , written and read and I found it so interesting.
Unfortunate that it is so unknown.

I thought this book was interesting and noteworthy to the story of a small but unbelievable and historic family in developing America.
The power and sheer amount of wealth and ostentatious and wasteful living is shocking and sad.
I enjoyed hearing Anderson Cooper read the book though the narrative at times jumped back and forth in time and was a bit lengthy.

It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Review of Paris Library
Revisado: 04-19-22
I felt the story during the war in Paris was very good.
I didn’t like the other story in America in the 80’s as much.
Often the young characters were silly and the story a bit boring.
It needed to be a bit stronger and interesting.
Yes books are an important part of life especially in war!

Where the Lost Wander
Revisado: 08-28-21
I have always been interested in Native Americans
And their plight thru the years and also curios about the wagon train life of early America.
I thought the story
Was well written with knowledge of bothe the journey by covered wagon and
some of the culture and Native American live.
I liked the narrators but would have preferred hearing a male voice for the men in the story.
I enjoyed the epilogue very much snd appreciated all the author said…we’ll done!
I will share it with my book club and my grandchildren someday.
