A great crime novel with historical flavor.

Loved it. With a few details to the story that were a bit less perfect, this is still a great crime novel and a thriller.
Blazed through it! I loved this kind of books and the characters were very well developed.

Revisado: 02-04-15
A beautiful structured story it keeps a fast pace while stile building characters and plot in a way that is a work of art.
One of the best books I have ever "read".
Beautiful performance. My favorite. John Lee is perfect. "ON YOUR KNEEEEES!!" =) It gave me chills and goose bumps.
What a pity that it's over.

Good crime book
Revisado: 01-09-15
This series is really nice. Good crime books with the twist of glimpses into the life in ancient Rome. Very interesting.
Good voice but not amazing (for my taste).

Historia
Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: She must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful 13-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims - a bit too strongly.

More like a soap opera
Revisado: 01-05-15
It is easy to digest. Easy overall..
The books look like they were heavily influenced by Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter (easy to relate to what I mean) but with a BIG soap opera flavor to it.
It is a story of a boy, that is not particularly bright, come to terms with being more powerful, intelligent and pretty than everyone else.
"Why did you get the second book then?" Because the story is compelling enough and I felt curious to what was going to happen to him.
I will get the third one. But I can't recommend this series too much.
A word about the performer. I think his voice is too childish and filled with too much emphasis. Everyone sounds like either a 3 year old, Arnold Schwarzenegger in Conan, or a pompous snob.
And I guess that might be the biggest problem with these audio books.
That and the romantic parts. Full of clichés. Actually, the whole thing is full of them.
