Historia
Mandy Smith spent 12 years strutting down the aisles as a Virgin flight attendant. From projectile vomit and celebrity tantrums to Manhattans and shopping in New York, her tales of life in the air are riotous good fun. Set against a backdrop of exotic locations, the cast of characters includes several celebrities, including Sir Richard himself. In-flight entertainment has never been so fun...and risqué!

Poorly written
Revisado: 12-09-17
Would you try another book from Corey R. Lewandowski and Dave N. Bossie and/or Peter Berkrot?
This was honestly horribly written. The point of view moved from first to third person, sometimes within the same sentence. Very little insight or understanding can be gained from this superficial book. It reads like an over-long 8th grader's school report. SAD!
What do you think your next listen will be?
I recommend Devil's Bargain for a riveting read, regardless of your politics. I will most likely listen to pick up Blackwater again and try to finish it.
What does Peter Berkrot bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Great voice. He did his best with the material given.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
It made me want a Big Mac.
Any additional comments?
Really disappointed with this one.

Historia
St. Marks Place in New York City has spawned countless artistic and political movements. Here Frank O'Hara caroused, Emma Goldman plotted, and the Velvet Underground wailed. But every generation of miscreant denizens believes that their era, and no other, marked the street's apex.

Wonderful history of a wonderful place.
Revisado: 11-07-15
What did you love best about St. Marks Is Dead?
I loved peeling back the layers of my favorite part of Manhattan. The history of St. Marks Church was especially interesting.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jimmy Webb from Trash and Vaudeville, who I often saw around the neighborhood while working in a bakery on Second Avenue. What a character! Also much respect to the New York Dolls:)
Did Carla Mercer-Meyer do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
This isn't fiction and had no dialogue, so this question isn't really relevant.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Emma Goldman and her story were especially moving and interesting.
Any additional comments?
The narrator mispronounced many place names in a way that would make any New Yorker cringe. Proper script prep and research would have done true justice to this book. We don't have any streets named after towns in Texas in the city, FYI.
