Very disappointed

I just really liked it. Nancy Drew for adults.
Revisado: 09-27-15
Nice atmosphere, nice characters. I usually read heavier material but this brought me the delight and relaxation of my youth with Nancy. I will watch for more AND check out the author's other books.

Shallow, not well written, and a complete rip-off
Revisado: 03-05-15
What would have made Dolly better?
This is a complete, light weight, shallow and not well written rip-off of the recent movie "Annabelle." Definitely NOT EXTREME HORROR; just stupid.
What was most disappointing about Jubilee Savage’s story?
The shallowness and lack of originality of the story.
How could the performance have been better?
Perhaps a female voice to better reflect the mother's perspective. This is not always an issue, but I found it disorienting when the male voice began, as I thought he was a father character. Narrator didn't have much to work with, but not a great narrator in general.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Pissed off I spent $10 on this waste of time ripped-off story.
Any additional comments?
Don't waste your time, money or a credit. Especially not a credit ;-)

Historia
Chestnut Hill is one of Philadelphia's most upscale neighborhoods. But in one gleaming home, in a teenager's lavish bedroom, a girl has been brutally murdered. The atrocity kicks off an investigation by police who connect the girl's murder to a bizarre string of increasingly disturbing murders. A serial killer is loose—someone of unprecedented savagery.

I just hated it
Revisado: 02-12-15
What disappointed you about The Dead Room?
It jumps around, rather abruptly and often, makes no sense, is sensationalistic and not really much about a serial killer, except gratuitously. The 'complexity' of the other storyline with the lawyer just kept leaving me lost.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Something good I hope.
What didn’t you like about Jim McCance’s performance?
Nice voice, but monotonous delivery.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Dead Room?
The weird stuff with the 'killer' was just nonsensical.

Really fun, engrossing book - performance GREAT!
Revisado: 12-14-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Endurance to be better than the print version?
I thoroughly enjoyed my first Jack Kilborn experience: Afraid. Loved this book. It was tremendously fun, reminded me of a number of excellent "back woods" horror movies. The narrator, however, ABSOLUTELY MADE THIS BOOK GREAT! Lane made me laugh - is clearly talented and really got into the performance aspect of this book. I kept laughing because of his characterizations.
What about Christopher Lane’s performance did you like?
He is superior. Many talented and giving narrators out there, but this guy: I'm in love. He never gave the tone of being above the story, and offered so many varied, engaging and hilarious characterizations, I am in love. Christopher Lane is what drove me to buy other Kilborn books, and I will definitely check out the other authors for whom he narrates. My infatuation with what he has given us here in Endurance is what prompted me to write this review.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Couldn't stay away. I listen to audio books while I work (on the less mentally challenging tasks), while I play, any time I can.
