Not all fit
Revisado: 11-26-24
A good anthology, some don't aren't slashers at all and one i got half way through and skipped because it was just pedantic.

A chilling collection of psychological suspense and literary horror from the multiple award-winning author of the national best seller The Cabin at the End of the World and A Head Full of Ghosts. A masterful anthology featuring 19 pieces of short fiction, Growing Things and Other Stories is an exciting glimpse into Paul Tremblay’s fantastically fertile imagination.

Antici....pation
Revisado: 11-13-24
Some good, most not great. Almost all would benefit from a better ending. They're not even anticlimactic or leaving it for the reader/listener to interpret they just end like the last pages weren't turned in on time. I actually requested a refund. Doubt I would try Head Full of Ghosts, now after everyone went on about it.

Historia
Who better to repel a body-snatching alien invasion than a group of teenage horror nerds? Billy and Tom are best friends, but each knows that at the end of the school year they'll be moving in different directions. But why not go out with a bang and throw one last video night? They can invite some girls over, order a pizza, then maybe try and fight the alien infection that's taken hold over their suburban town. It's The Breakfast Club meets The Night of the Creeps in this slime-drenched '80s horror romp.

A fun invasion story. There's some jumps in logic but the story is compelling and the end uncertain. The narrator does elevate a lot of the sections.

Historia
Once every year, Scoutmaster Tim Riggs leads a troop of boys into the Canadian wilderness for a weekend camping trip - a tradition as comforting and reliable as a good ghost story around a roaring bonfre. The boys are a tight-knit crew. There’s Kent, one of the most popular kids in school; Ephraim and Max, also well-liked and easygoing; then there’s Newt the nerd and Shelley the odd duck. For the most part, they all get along and are happy to be there - which makes Scoutmaster Tim’s job a little easier.

Troop Body Horror
Revisado: 11-13-24
Fun slice of horror. A Lord of the Flies meets The Fly or The Blob. You truly don't know who will be left standing. Didn't always care for the breakaway from the main story and they didn't pay off until later, they robbed some of the tension and momentum from the story. Very vivid and great narrator.

Some good, some clunkers. Some fun, none scary.

Great narration to creepy tales
Revisado: 11-13-24
Some fun stories, not all classics. Some barely have anything to do with Christmas and the last story is far too long and drawn out, ending ththe book on a sour note. The narration is amazing, making even the mundane elevated.
