A wild ride from start to end!
Revisado: 08-17-20
There wasn't anything I disliked about the audiobook. The narrator was perfectly matched to Cosby's emotion churning words and I was hooked from the get go. I had to turn it off at times just to get my anxiety under control!
I recommend this audiobook a thousand times over and again. I love it!

So excited to have discovered Marah Chase!
Revisado: 07-15-20
I need more books like this in my life. Not only was it fronted by women, not only did it have a lesbian protagonist and a bi supporting character, but it was packed with action, fights, delicious bits of lore mixed with true history, and did I mention action and fights? Plus a Nazi got thrown out of a plane while it was in the air, and that's what this world needs right now. I will absolutely by buying the sequel, and hoping the narrator has perfected her accents by then.

So good I fell off a ladder!
Revisado: 01-23-19
No, true story. I was working on renovating a bedroom and the book got intense enough to apparently erase the last two ladder steps from my memory as I climbed down and you know what? I don't even regret it. This was a beautiful book about a rich culture full of traditions and ways of life that were previously unknown to me. Plus the story of immigration and how it touches lives differently across generations is always interesting. I really loved this book and I'm glad I listened to it.

Historia
"Wuthering Heights" is Emily Brontë's only novel. It was first published in 1847 under the pseudonym Ellis Bell, and a posthumous second edition was edited by her sister Charlotte. The name of the novel comes from the Yorkshire manor on the moors on which the story centers (as an adjective, "wuthering" is a Yorkshire word referring to turbulent weather). The narrative tells the tale of the all-encompassing and passionate, yet thwarted, love between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw.

I want my 14 hours back
Revisado: 11-09-18
The narrator was so slow that I listened at 1.4x speed just to make it sound normal. The editing was bad and I found the story so lacking that I'm mad I listened to the whole thing and have nobody to blame but myself.

Unparalleled Storytelling
Revisado: 02-08-18
Thank God I didn't have good as a book or else I would have stayed up all night reading just to see how it ended. I cried, I got anxiety, I clenched my fists and almost shouted. Exciting, terrifying, and masterful. Gardiner is a powerhouse and Huber's narration brings it all home.

This book hurt me
Revisado: 07-23-17
Oh my goodness this is an awful audiobook unless you can listen to it straight through. I think I developed at least eleventeen ulcers having to turn it off now and again. It's such a great book, absolutely fantastic, and the reader gets so much emotion into the words. I need to go lie down for a bit to recover.

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.
