was listening while working at a graveyard gig and it got me through the nights with very interesting commentary. the research and thoughts in this book have applications in every person's life; made me take a critical (somewhat uncomfortable, but satisfying) look at my daily life and my life on a broader scale. highly recommend.

Historia
From the end of World War II until 1980, virtually no American soldiers were killed in action while serving in the Greater Middle East. Since 1990, virtually no American soldiers have been killed in action anywhere else. What caused this shift? Andrew J. Bacevich, one of the country's most respected voices on foreign affairs, offers an incisive critical history of this ongoing military enterprise - now more than 30 years old and with no end in sight.

absolutely essential reading
Revisado: 04-17-17
To be an informed citizen is to question the government's narrative and find your own sources of credible information. Bacevich points out Americas expeditions in the middle east as what they are: costly and bereft of direct benefits for the American citizenry. From our original intentions to protect the Arabian peninsula from Soviet infiltration under the Carter Doctrine to our current air war and advisory role in Iraq dubbed "inherent resolve" Bacevich enumerates the often Ill advised American actions that have been carried out in the name of freedom and democracy.

Historia
While everyone is talking about "big data", the truth is that understanding the "little data" - the stats that underlie newspaper headlines, stock reports, weather forecasts, and so on - is what helps you make smarter decisions at work, at home, and in every aspect of your life. The average person consumes approximately 30 gigabytes of data every single day but has no idea how to interpret it correctly. Everydata explains, through the eyes of an expert economist and statistician, how to decipher the small bytes of data we consume in a day.
