I’ve never read a book quite like this. It was a totally different style of writing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. (The audio book)
Great plot on some people’s everyday crap plus issues people you know may have been through but are great at keeping hidden. I loved how open and talkative Brock was and how truly nice Tess was. Beautiful love story in such an “in your face” sort of way. The narrator did an excellent job. I just checked on line and purchased the first book. If it’s as good, I’ll get number 3 afterwards

Long, but very good

This is the first book of the series, but the last one I listened to. It got a little less intriguing about 3/4 of the way through, but it picked back up and ended with a bang. The narrator was just a bit stiff on this one, but still did a good job. Excellent plot.

Unnecessarily vulgar and plotless

I’ve read erotic romance and erotica, but this story is just vulgar. Is written from the hero’s point of view so I fully expect a certain amount of crassness. However the verbiage and actions sound like that of a horny16 year old boy. The heroine is a virgin but is blatantly sexual and suggestive. The guy tries to tell her to get back in the cab and go home but she insists on staying with him overnight. She then stops him when things get hot and heavy telling him she’s a virgin and has no intention of having sex with him. She also implies he can’t handle her. So she’s basically a tease. She bends over in front of him in her dress and rubs up against him. Again, a tease. I’m halfway through the audio book and I’ve had enough. Not bothering to finish. The narrator does have a nice voice though.

First of all, the breathy voice only worked for Marilyn Monroe. It did not sound good on the heroin. Also, the heroine was whiny and a huge mouse. I didn’t look to see when this book was written, but there were so many potential sexual harassment suit’s that HR would’ve had a cow. Naked bodies and sex on the beach is tricky enough without the hero pouring sand on top of the heroin. And you’re not going near those girly parts until you get all that sand thoroughly washed off. Not much depth or strength in the characters. And the men should not be saddled with voices that sound nasally and prepubescent.

Ok so I will listen to anything Suzanne B writes and this one didn’t disappoint. Peter and Shay were wonderful together. The secondary characters were just as fascinating. Love how they developed and matured throughout. Going straight to find the next in the series.

This was an unexpected treat. Early in the story, I really disliked Cal. He was such a jerk. The author did an excellent job of turning his character around. The other characters in the story were wonderfully developed as well. I think I want to listen to the next I’m the series.

Good story

No doubt this was a good story. However, part of the reason I wanted this book was because I thought it would finish up the Callahan story.
Sage’s story was was an emotional ride and that doesn’t happen often for me. Two thumbs up on that count.
But Gabe and Nic’s story was bound in there too and I started this series because I went through Gabe’s brothers first.
Although I read the Christmas novella, there was a lot of story about Gabe going back to Texas that was never delivered. I feel robbed. Now the twins are a year old so I can’t imagine any of the others in this series filling in that void. Very sad about being left hanging.
