Historia
As the daughter of the most powerful trader in the Narrows, the sea is the only home 17-year-old Fable has ever known. It's been four years since the night she watched her mother drown during an unforgiving storm. The next day, her father abandoned her on a legendary island filled with thieves and little food. To survive, she must keep to herself, learn to trust no one, and rely on the unique skills her mother taught her. The only thing that keeps her going is the goal of getting off the island, finding her father, and demanding her rightful place beside him and his crew.

I need book 2
Revisado: 09-08-20
I loved it. Fable's desire for a family and sense of safety was so well written and so relatable I actually cried a few times listening to this at work. The world that the story is set in is well crafted and compelling in a familiar way if you've read seafaring stories before, but with a freshness that kept it interesting. The narrator had a great voice for the story. I am dying for book 2. I need it.

Hosting her brother's wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning's life. Already the family screw-up, she can't afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.

I don't like sports romances...
Revisado: 11-11-18
But I love this book. Not only is it well written, but the characters are amazing. This is just one of those stories that's sweet and laugh out loud funny. I've read it twice and highly recommend to anyone looking for a feel good romance that'll make you warm inside.
The vocal narration was so good, although Tanya Eby takes a chapter to get used to. This is not the first of her work I've heard and at first she can sound somewhat robotic until you get used to her flow. At that point the characters have somehow come to life and Eby is hilarious.
Such a good book. Probably my favorite contemporary romance novel even though I dislike sports romances. It's that good.

Historia
After 10 years at war, Jev Dharrow looks forward to hanging up his sword, relaxing with a cool mug of ale, and forgetting that the love of his life married another man while he was gone. But when his ship sails into port, a beautiful woman wearing the garb of an inquisitor from one of the religious orders waits to arrest him. He’s accused of stealing an ancient artifact with the power to start another war. Jev would gladly hand over the artifact to stop more suffering, but he has no idea where it is or even what it looks like. The inquisitor woman definitely has the wrong person.

loved it

Lindsay Buroker writes the most likable characters. This book reminded me of the Dragon Age video game series in the best way, with elements of steampunk. I like how lighthearted it was but hope the next one includes some grit. Overall really amazing.
