This true story .. Kept my attention.. it gave me insight on rowing ..,,I did not know about before.. a good knowledge of the background of the main character ,, Joe Rance. .. I enjoyed listening on audible and it was very well read.. Each chapter was better and better.. Listening and getting excited as though I was there.. and could visualize the 1936 Olympics.. Im glad I listened to this book.. I will look up more about the 1936 olympics and about the men who were in the boat.. Louise

I never heard about this TRUE murder mystery .. I enjoy history. . There is a lot of adventure in the story. There are many characters in the story. A plot of murder and greed.

I Can Relate.. I Cant relate..

As usual I can relate and can find common reactions that David Sedaris writes about , common issues during these difficult times in 2022. , I do not share his politics and dont enjoy him putting down President Trump, Yes I can relate when a parent dies and a family member has mental illness. I did have a few chuckles snd enjoy the relationship he has with his sibs.. But the best part for me is Davids tone of his voice puts me to sleep so it takes a long long time for me to listen to the book,, I go back where I think I fell asleep and listen again. This is a cure for my insomnia..

Sometimes you need to Chuckle

Love the snippets of the diary. Had me silently chuckling to myself.. One wonderful thing ive noticed... me being a person who has a difficult time filing asleep. Mr Sedarises voice lols me to sleep so it has taken me quite some time like 4 times the amount of time to listen to his books.. But that's ok Im retired and have all the time in the world...

interesting. talkative. but predictable. and very depressing... everything. what we all dread.... death. being alone ... It was difficult to keep tract of chapter because there is a mistake in the recording.. the highs and very lows of a marriage..

I loved th unbelievable story. I enjoyed reading this. I remember seeing something about the on the news.. I did get the people mixd up. because there were so many. never the less it was a powerful story.

A BIG LAUGH

Loved the story. Made up characters. A strange plot of twists and turns.. Only sorry. that Toole didn't live to write more stories. Highly recommend if you need to laugh.

I probably wouldn't have listened to this if it wasn't an Audible Original... Non the less I listened . I wasn't impressed with the story of her life.. But felt very sad for Margaret Trudeau. The sound of her voice was like finger nails on a chalk board. .
