Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I didn't want to stop listening!
Revisado: 08-05-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. First, the story is great. I thought I knew what the characters were going to find, I was wrong. I am also so glad I was wrong, had the characters found what I thought they were going to find, this would have been a cliche novel. Second, the narration in this book is great, the narrator does an excellent job in portraying each character and I was able to visualize characters better than other audiobooks I have listened to.
What was one of the most memorable moments of 14?
I think the entire book is memorable. The author does this great job interweaving historical figures, agencies, and science fiction together. The story is seamless and exciting.
Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not. I would be willing to listen to other performances based on my experience with this book.

Historia
Once again, David Sedaris brings together a collection of essays so uproariously funny and profoundly moving that his legions of fans will fall for him all over again. He tests the limits of love when Hugh lances a boil from his backside, and pushes the boundaries of laziness when, finding the water shut off in his house in Normandy, he looks to the water in a vase of fresh cut flowers to fill the coffee machine.

Decent, not my favorite Sedaris' book
Revisado: 08-05-15
What did you like best about When You Are Engulfed in Flames? What did you like least?
I loved that David Sedaris narrated his own book. I've always enjoyed listening to Sedaris read his stories, I think he adds emphasis where the reader might not know where to add emphasis. His vocal pitch always accommodates the funniest parts.
Would you be willing to try another book from David Sedaris? Why or why not?
I like his books, I would be willing to listen to another book by him.
Have you listened to any of David Sedaris’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I don't think it is the best that I have heard from him. I am partial to Me Talk Pretty One Day.

You will want to listen to all Bond books
Revisado: 08-05-15
What made the experience of listening to Casino Royale the most enjoyable?
I really liked the narrator for this book. The story is enjoyable, but the narrator makes it more enjoyable with personifications of each character.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Bond. The Bond in the book is very different than the Bonds portrayed by many actors in the movies.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I was shocked at the ending. I will leave it there, providing further information will spoil the book.
Any additional comments?
I plan on listening to the rest of the series because of this book.

Historia
Golden Globe-winning actor Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under) performs Truman Capote's masterstroke about a young writer's charmed fascination with his unorthodox neighbor, the "American geisha" Holly Golightly. Holly - a World War II-era society girl in her late teens - survives via socialization, attending parties and restaurants with men from the wealthy upper class who also provide her with money and expensive gifts. Over the course of the novella, the seemingly shallow Holly slowly opens up to the curious protagonist.

I listened in one sitting!
Revisado: 08-05-15
I liked this story. I have always loved the movie and was surprised of the differences between the movie and the book. I am not sure if one is better than the other, both exist in different mediums and are great. I can tell you that I listened to this in one sitting, from beginning to end. Michael C. Hall is a good narrator and I would listen to something that he narrates again. At first, I had a little bit of difficulty separating his voice from "Dexter" because he has such a distinct voice. However, after about 10 minutes I no longer experienced this difficulty.

An insider's perspective of the FLDS
Revisado: 07-06-15
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would. This book provides an insider's perspective to an organization that only ex-members can provide. The book details the secrets the FLDS tried to protect and the experience and difficulty of leaving an organization that uses persuasion and manipulation to coerce its members. It is an eye opening book that explains the difficulty of leaving a manipulative structured society without setting out to do so.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Yes. I liked that the author narrated her own story.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No. I think having listened to her story was enough for me, I would not want to relive her experience via a movie. However, had I not listened, I would probably watch the movie.

What other book might you compare Agent to the Stars to and why?
I'm not sure.
What about Wil Wheaton’s performance did you like?
Wil Wheaton displays appropriate emotion throughout the story, capitalizes on sarcasm in his characters, and creates a vocal setting that you can visualize.

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. I'm still thinking about this book
Revisado: 07-06-15
If you could sum up Gone Girl in three words, what would they be?
Thriller, Unexpected, Wow
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes! I found myself guessing what would happen next and sped up the reading rate so I could get there quicker.
What about Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne ’s performance did you like?
I liked that the male and female characters were performed by a male and a female. Both performers provided the appropriate emotions, and voices for other characters within their respective stories.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, unfortunately I was unable to. However, I was able to listen to the book in a few days.
Any additional comments?
It is hard for me to stay engaged in one book. I often will stop, start a new book, and return to the original book I was reading. This book I remained enthralled in the story from beginning to end, and was shocked throughout the narrative.

If you could sum up Inferno in three words, what would they be?
Exciting. Informative. Calculated.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The plot was no different than any other Robert Langdon series. However, it was well written, well researched, and moved quickly.
What about Paul Michael’s performance did you like?
Paul Michael clearly distinguishes the characters in the book from one another. It is easy to follow along, and characters are never "dropped."
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
No

Being a Girl with Glasses isn't just a style choice; it's a way of life. If you've ever had your specs steam up when walking into a bar, squinted into the sun on the soccer field, or laid eyes on a new haircut only after your locks are strewn across the floor, you know what it's like to be a GWG. Marissa Walsh has worn glasses since third grade. Now - 10 pairs of glasses, one pair of prescription sunglasses, and endless pairs of contacts later - she has fully embraced her four-eyed fate.

Funny memoir but sounds like Siri is reading
Revisado: 02-21-14
What did you like best about Girl with Glasses? What did you like least?
I thought the stories were genuine and relatable. Many stories brought back my own memories that I could chuckle at.
Would you be willing to try another book from Marissa Walsh? Why or why not?
This wasn't my favorite book, but it was a quick and funny listen. I may try another book from the author, however this isn't my typical go-to-genre.
How could the performance have been better?
Anyone else could have read this and it would have been better. The reader lacked emotion in key spots, sounded like Siri, and was calculated while reading. I've listened to several other books that were well read and kept me engaged. This book, while funny, had me wishing it would end quickly, just so I could be done hearing the reader.
