Historia
In 2022, Lisa Marie Presley asked her daughter to help finally finish her long-gestating memoir. A month later, Lisa Marie was dead, and the world would never know her story in her own words, never know the passionate, joyful, caring, and complicated woman that Riley loved and now grieved. Riley got the tapes that her mother had recorded for the book, lay in her bed, and listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about smashing golf carts together in the yards of Graceland, about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs, just the two of them.

terrible narration
Revisado: 01-18-25
this sounds like it is being narrated by a computer generated voice. I would have liked to hear how the story developed but after an hour of listening, I just couldn't take any more.

Historia
At times stern, at other times patient, at times perceptive, at other times in sad denial, Olive Kitteridge, a retired schoolteacher, deplores the changes in her little town of Crosby, Maine, and in the world at large, but she doesn’t always recognize the changes in those around her: a lounge musician haunted by a past romance; a former student who has lost the will to live; Olive’s own adult child, who feels tyrannized by her irrational sensitivities; and her husband, Henry, who finds his loyalty to his marriage both a blessing and a curse.

very hard to follow
Revisado: 05-26-20
this story was very hard to follow. it jumped from character to character, from story line to story line without connecting the dots. only at the end did I learn that these were a series of short stories published over a period of years & not intended as a cohesive story.

This young Dr & his wife could have become bitter, but instead became better. He lived the time he had left & faced death with dignity.
