Historia
Long ago, Nathan lived in a house in the country with his abusive father—and has never told his family what happened there. Long ago, Maddie was a little girl making dolls in her bedroom when she saw something she shouldn’t have—and is trying to remember that lost trauma by making haunting sculptures. Long ago, something sinister walked in the mountains and the coal mines of their hometown in rural Pennsylvania. Now, Nate and Maddie Graves are married, and they have moved back to their hometown with their son, Oliver. And now what happened long ago is happening again...to Oliver.

Good Read - interesting and unexpected!!!
Revisado: 12-02-24
This was a great story: unexpected turns and twists, good vs evil, surprising premise. Some reviewers didn’t like the female narrator but I liked her and the guy.
The main female character was a badass, and the narrator really brought Maddie to life.
The different timelines and events added to the character development. This was a GOOD READ.

Historia
In this masterful debut, Martin Clark proves to be the heir apparent of great Southern raconteurs and the envy of more seasoned novelists as he takes us on a frantic tour of the modern South. Hung over, beaten by the unforgiving sun, bitter at his estranged wife, and dreading the day's docket of petty criminal cases, Judge Evers Wheeling is in need of something on the morning he's accosted by Ruth Esther English.

SO ODD but couldn’t stop
Revisado: 07-07-24
This story does not fit into a category! The brothers have a loving strange relationship. The main character is a middle aged white, somewhat racist judge who becomes friends (and more) with a progressive no nonsense young black female attorney. Sounds odd but is delightful. And that’s just one of the kooky storylines.
I will remember this book and the characters for a long time. I loved the author’s voice and vocabulary. I will definitely read more from this guy.

Spanish Inquisition setting too much
Revisado: 05-12-24
She writes a good story always. But I didn’t like this one, the background of the Spanish Inquisition was simply too depressing.

Historia
The Catenan Republic—the Hierarchy—may rule the world now, but they do not know everything. I tell them my name is Vis Telimus. I tell them I was orphaned after a tragic accident three years ago, and that good fortune alone has led to my acceptance into their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will gladly join the rest of civilized society in allowing my strength, my drive, and my focus—what they call Will—to be leeched away and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. As all must eventually do.

Revisado: 05-05-24
I knew this was the first book of a new series, I haven’t read Islington before. It was a bit reminiscent of the Red Rising series but only with names and Roman references.
This was an awesome book, the narrator was perfect and I can’t wait for the next one.

A delightful feel-good story
Revisado: 03-17-24
Truly, if the detailed information regarding “Butlering” duties had been omitted, the story would have been 1/2 as long.
However, I don’t think I would change a thing. A delightful, feel-good story with kind endearing characters.

Historia
The London Silver Vaults—for well over a century, the largest collection of silver for sale in the world. It has more locks than the Bank of England and more cameras than a paparazzi convention. Not somewhere you can murder someone and vanish without a trace—only that’s what happened. The disappearing act, the reports of a blinding flash of light, and memory loss amongst the witnesses all make this a case for Detective Constable Peter Grant and the Special Assessment Unit.

Historia
In a city that lost its magic, an angel falls in a downtown street. His wings are feathered, whole—undeniably magical—the man clearly flew, because he left one hell of a mess when he plummeted into the sidewalk. But what sent him up? What brought him down? And will the answers help Fetch bring the magic back for good? Working alongside necromancers, genies, and shadowy secret societies, through the wildest forests and dingiest dive bars, this case will leave its mark on Fetch's body, his soul, and the fate of the world.

QUIRKY, but totally awesome!
Revisado: 06-11-22
This is the 3rd in a series. The main character, Fetch, is flawed and believable - as are the other characters. I have really enjoyed this saga. I’m looking forward to the next book. The author also narrates; his voice, timing and cadence is impeccable.

Mixed reviews BUT A GOOD LISTEN!
Revisado: 09-03-21
I don’t usually take the time to write reviews but this was a good listen. I knew from other reviews that the plot was gonna take a supernatural twist. Not Hart’s go-to usual story. The plot was surprising, entertaining and satisfying. Good strong crazy believable characters.
