An amazing story, written in a frustrating format

good, though I wished it was more linear

I was hesitant to pick up this series (as of this review we are on book 15.) I am not sure about the overall story. This book gave me whiplash while I understand why the author decided to split up the bulk of the buildup to the start of the campaign the way he did; it was still annoying. If this book was something I downloaded via MP3 I may go back and rewrite books, so that is all follows one path just to see if the start of the campaign was as boring as the author was fearing. Overall, the story is good, and the metaphors that the author uses are well thought out.

This story...disjointed.

I am enjoying this saga, though I will tell you it is not something you can understand if you do not read the fist book. I read the first book and frankly keeping track of all the plot changes, and twists is almost nuts. I have never wanted to laugh so hard as watching a "Archmage" be the biggest fool I have ever seen in a book. I wonder how he made it past puberty. I truly hope he dies in the next book it is a hope that keeps me going.

I think in most men's hearts lives a hope that we are ruled by just and noble people. This book well these two books provide a foundation for an amazing ideal. What would happen if you died and instead of dying you found yourself in a world that sees who you were before as nothing more then a legend? That is the world that is created by Michael Sisa. it is an interesting thought experiment at the very least.

Great first book into a new series!

Fist off Julie great book! This was an enjoyable book and the character reach out and grab you off the page to follow them though this amazing story! The first thing people need to realize this book is not fast the story is worth going though a few times because the of the enjoyable moments that the two main characters go though. While the story is wonderful; I was left with many questions at the end of the book, like Why were powerful alpha females in wolves were to be killed? Would the practice continue if a Westin wolf was found to be a powerful alpha female?
