There are three rules Brooke Sullivan must follow as a new nurse practitioner at a men’s maximum-security prison: 1) Treat all prisoners with respect. 2) Never reveal any personal information. 3) Never EVER become too friendly with the inmates. But none of the staff at the prison knows Brooke has already broken the rules. Nobody knows about her intimate connection to Shane Nelson, one of the penitentiary’s most notorious and dangerous inmates.

If you like LMN movies this is for you
Revisado: 11-18-24
I do like LMN movies and this reminded me of the plot to many of these movies. It was a quick read and the plot kept moving. All the loose ends were tied up in the end. Would like to see this on LMN some day.

Great production and story
Revisado: 07-14-24
I love listening to stories with multiple voice actors and sound effects. The selection of stories and their ability to condense them into short episodes was perfect for my tastes.

Historia
Anna Koray escaped her father’s darkness long ago. When she was a girl, her childhood memories were sealed away from her conscious mind by a controversial hypnosis treatment. She’s now a decorated sheriff’s lieutenant serving a rural county, conducting an ordinary life far from her father’s shadow. When Anna kills a man in the line of duty, her suppressed memories return. She dreams of her beloved father, his hands red with blood, surrounded by flower-decked corpses he had sacrificed to the god of the forest.

I was entertained
Revisado: 06-09-24
Not a bad story. I liked the narrator. I liked the idea of the daughter of a serial killer story but was hoping for a few intense scares I suppose.

Not my favorite Bentley Little novel, but still enjoyed the story. The narrator did a great job. His later novels score higher in my opinion. Bentley seems to get better with age.

Historia
Brad Woods has performed a lot of autopsies, but never one like this. The body is purged of all blood. Fear has made Sue Wing run from the darkened school and into night, a fear so powerful she can only name it using the Cantonese myths of her grandmother: Cup-hu-girngsi, the corspe who drinks blood. Reporters like Rich Carter don't believe in the supernatural, but all the signs are pointing to the same conclusion: a vampire is stalking the streets of Rio Verde. No, Rich Carter doesn't believe in such things. Not yet.

Pretty good listen
Revisado: 03-11-24
This is the second Bentley Little book I’ve listened to. The other being The Store. Both stories had a great plot. Being a King fan, I wish there was more character development. I’m hoping Little grows as a writer in that sense because he’s got some great ideas. I would recommend this novel.

Entertaining book but not in Kings top 10
Revisado: 08-20-21
I’m a big Steven King fan and have read roughly 75% of his works. He has set such a high bar from his previous works that this may have been a 5 star review if it were by a different author. Great story with a King like ending. Not wanting to give away the plot to anyone who may read this review prior to reading the story. Yes, there are parts where I wish King had done things differently but you can say that of most novels. I think King fans will enjoy this book. As far as the Trump supporters and their poor reviews. I just want to remind them this is a work of fiction much like a lot of what Trump spouts out every day. The purpose of book reviews is to give a literary perspective. Keep your conspiracy theories out of your review and stick to the topic.
