Review of Audiobook- Will Power by Piper Collins, Performed by Matthew Naslanic

Will Power is a romance novel with terrific and likable characters. When Sloan and her son Alex attend a will reading, they find out that a manor in Slovenia was evenly split between Sloan and the owner's grandson Dario. While the situation was shocking for them both, cool heads prevail and they have positive discussions about what to do with the place. While selling the house and splitting things evenly may have been the easiest way to go, Sloan comes up with a better idea that may make them both more money in the long term. That also means they will be spending more time together.

The audiobook is performed by Matthew Naslanic. Matthew handles the POV of both Sloan and Dario with perfection. He doesn’t overdo any of the voices but makes sure that each character is distinguishable from the last. He also puts the feelings of the situation where they belong with his narration. He has excellent pacing, clarity, and pronunciation.

Overall, Will Power is a very cute romance book with a terrific ending most people will really enjoy. It is a great novel written by Piper Collins with an excellent choice of choosing Matthew Naslanic as narrator.

Review of Audiobook- The Spy Devils by Joe Goldberg, Performed by P.J. Ochlan

With a name like “The Spy Devils”, you can bet there may be some spy action going on. However, I wasn’t prepared for the amount of intrigue that author Joe Goldberg was able to bring to the table.

The main protagonist, Trowbridge “Bridger” Hall, is a covert CIA operative who is guided by a ruthless CIA controller who happens to be his mother. Ruthless-Mother, yep… Story gets pretty darn good.

From start to finish, this book delivers action packed scenes with fun/crazy characters, cool techie gadgets like the sniping “Devilbot”, and even some humor.

The performance of this book was done by the talented P.J. Ochlan! There wasn’t a single character in this book in which I could not distinguish. P.J.’s character work was flawless as it always is. It truly is amazing to have a performer bring you to the edge of your seat during action scenes, and this book was full of action!

Great job for both Joe Goldberg and P.J. Ochlan! If you like thrillers and spy action novels, you will love this book! I was given a copy of this audiobook for review purposes and am leaving a voluntary honest review.

Review of Audiobook- The Cure: A Black Ghost Thriller, Book 2 by Freddie Villacci Jr., Performed by Scott Brick

This is the second book of the Black Ghost Thriller series and all I can say is what an adventure! From the beginning of this book until the end, we are presented with twists, turns, and OMG’s.
The Black Ghost, aka Bic is on a mission to locate the man who turned his life upside down, and shove a porkchop down his throat! That man is Bic’s father, and things get interesting real quick.

Back to Bic’s niece Gracie, Big Pharma does not stop their attempts at wiping her cancer cure, as well as Gracie herself, off the face of the world. Uncle Bic has to step in again! You’ll want to listen in on how this one transpires. For me, I am patiently waiting until the third book in the series has come out! Stellar job Freddie Villacci Jr.!

Scott Brick did his thing again! The man is just plain scary good. From narrating the bible to narrating Bic, the Black Ghost assassin with a catchphrase of “IT'S PORK CHOP EATIN' TIME", Brick never disappoints.

Review of Audiobook- Black Ghost: Black Ghost Thriller, Book 1 by Freddie Villacci Jr., Performed by Scott Brick

If there was one thing I wasn’t expecting after listening to this novel, it was getting one phrase stuck in my head so that I repeated it often. That wouldn’t be a big deal, but you get funny looks when you walk around saying, “It’s pork chop eating time”.

I loved the premise of this book. You have an assassin trying to make the world a better place in his own way. Not just by taking out the bad guys, but by investing in a cure for cancer. Throw in all the action-packed scenes, unique twists, and intriguing storyline, and the book is easily a five-star listen.

To make it even better, this book was narrated by one of the best narrators in the business! Scott Brick brought another stellar performance to add to his collection of greats. He really knows how to make subtle changes and differences to aid the story and never goes further than it should. A perfect narration of an awesomely fun and unique thriller by Freddie Villacci Jr.

Looking forward to listening to the second installment of the series, The Cure: A Black Ghost Thriller! “It’s pork chop eating time”

Review of Audiobook- Pieces: 10 Bite-Sized Horror Short Stories by Steve Wands, Performed by Sera Sharr

Steve Wands continues to show his writing prowess in this anthology of 10 short horror stories. Pieces is a perfect name for this collection, as each story represented new pieces to include in the puzzle of all things that are considered Horror.

Each “Piece” was a true glimpse into the disturbing darkness where real-life horror and fantasies intertwine to make a person uncomfortable in the most squeamish of ways.

This book was performed by narrator Sera Sharr, who delivered each story perfectly. Her characterizations were really good and she held my attention throughout each story, which is sometimes difficult to accomplish with many short story collections.

Overall, all the pieces came together to make a collection of great tales that should be heard.

This is a review for the audiobook The Elemental Coven (Witch’s Ambitions Trilogy #2), Written by Kayla Krantz and Narrated by Lynn Norris.

Author Kayla Krantz weaves another wonderful tale into her Witch’s Ambitions Trilogy with the second book in the series.
The story takes off where the previous story left off- the Land of Five has been shattered with war and Lillith has been captured. In a true fantasy fashion, nothing may be as it seems. Or maybe it is? New characters introduced, old characters returning…. (some a bit more literally than others) AKA the re-animates. Lillith faces more struggles and uncertainty but gains more knowledge and abilities. These are instrumental in turning Lillith into who she is becoming.

I loved the plot twists and turns all the way until the end of this novel, guaranteeing I will be picking up the last of the series to find out how everything turned out.

Lynn Norris turned in another excellent performance while narrating this novel. Her character work is top-notch and she presents the material in a way that keeps me entertained throughout the entire book. Kayla Krantz and Lynn Norris hit it out of the park with another great addition to this series.

Review of Audiobook- New Arcadia Stage One by Eric Jason Martin,

Eric Jason Martin brings a story envisioned in the year 2023. Did his imagined future society beat the pandemic we currently face? I’m afraid not. The world isn’t in very good shape and John Chambers is forced to spend his days working for a company delivering critical supplies to others like himself via drone shipments. He spends the rest of his time in a virtual world, trying to get past the boredom and depression life has become.

One thing is for sure, he excels at life in the virtual world. Trusting no one and working alone, he crushes the game developers' new game without any assistance. This gets him on the radar for the owner of a new virtual world called, “New Arcadia”. John is recruited to go into this world and travel back into time to the year 199x. This is where things get really fun for those born in the ’80s.

The nostalgia this book brings is astounding. So much fun. I mean, who doesn’t get a smile just thinking about a fanny pack. Eric’s writing is so great and comedic. A true joy. Another aspect I really liked was the random trivia about movie directors and life in the ’90s. John has a pretty good memory. ;-)

After beating up the bad guys, John is slowly realizing that going alone isn’t going to cut it in this world. He teams up with some awesome characters to kick some butt in the game world. But in real life, things are getting serious and the fate of the real world may actually fall on the ability of this great team to work together.

This story was a lot of fun and I am really hoping there is a Stage Two coming out sometime in the future. The audiobook was performed by a full cast with the talented Eric Jason Martin taking the lead role in his first novel. Always a great performer, it is truly awesome to see how great he is at with his writing skills as well.

The rest of the cast included Matthew Mercer, Erika Ishii, Dave Fennoy, Sam Riegel, Dana Snyder, Andy Merrill, John DiMaggio… There also were some other awesome superstars lending their mastery to this audiobook: Marin Ireland, Scott Brick, Tara Sands, Suzanne Elise Freeman (Perfect voice of the system A.I.) P.J. Ochlan, Betsy Sodaro, DC Pierson, Neil Hellegers, Johnny Heller, Ron Butler, and Justin Michael,. What a cast!

Go listen to this book now. I don’t think you will regret it.

Review of Audiobook- Stay Dead 2 The Dead and Dying by Steve Wands, Performed by Jason Hill

Stay Dead 1 was good, but the second book of the series was even better. Steve Wands delivers a zombie romp that is never short on action. The characters are intriguing, especially the introduction to a serial killer left for dead. Or Undead?

The storyline deepens in this novel and the world is taking more shape. It isn’t pretty…Some characters die….Ok, a lot of people die… in good zombie fashion. The survivors though bring you to the edge of your seat….

This audiobook was performed by narrator Jason Hill. This narrator hit it out of the park with the right tone and style needed for this book. He was clear and no audio issues were heard. He guided the story exactly how it needed to be told and was a big asset for this series.

Looking forward to the third installment in this series. Great job Steve Wands and Jason Hill.

This is a review for the audiobook The Council (Witch’s Ambitions Trilogy #1), Written by Kayla Krantz and Narrated by Lynn Norris.

Author Kayla Krantz developed an amazing magical world where The Council governs over the witches of the five regions. The main character is Lilith, a young witch who begins developing her powers after she thought she would have none. Powers that create more questions than answers for Lilith.

As Lilith is recruited by The Council, she is forced to travel through the five lands, searching for answers on behalf of The Council leader. Again, this leads to more questions for Lilith as she confronts many new characters. Speaking of characters, Kayla has really excelled at character building in the first book of this trilogy. You got a great feel for who and what each person was about. Her world-building was great as well!

In regards to the narration of the audiobook, Lynn Norris recorded a wonderful performance. Each character is portrayed to make them easily identifiable. She speaks with a clear vocal throughout the book and knows when to add feelings in her voice where appropriate. Definitely a narrator that I could enjoy listening to on many different styles of books.

Overall, the YA vibes and storytelling magic created in this tale create a fun adventure to follow for anyone who is into the paranormal fantasy style books. It is set up wonderfully and I look forward to what will transpire in the second installment of this series.
