Historia
I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out...and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late. But I reassure myself: The Winchesters don’t know who I really am. They don’t know what I’m capable of....

Surprise ending
Revisado: 06-24-24
This started out as the story of Millie, then in a complete turnaround, we get the story Nina, then back to Millie’s side of the story and Nina,,, etc. Lots of unexpected twists. I enjoyed the story and the reader’s voices of the different characters involved.

Historia
As the sweet, polite, and thoughtful Mary Ann Summers from Kansas in the hit series Gilligan's Island, Dawn Wells created an unforgettable and beloved character that still connects with people 50 years from the show's debut in 1964. As the "good girl" among the group of castaways on a tiny island, she was often positioned against the glamorous and exotic Ginger Grant, played by Tina Louise, prompting many to ask: Are you a Ginger or a Mary Ann?

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

Incredible story
Revisado: 04-08-23
An inspiring story of courage, heroism and sacrifice. I cried. The author really did a lot of research to get it right. I highly recommend reading this. Now to find the movie (2014) and re-watch it.

Historia
Two men, each handsome and unusually adept at his chosen work, embodied an element of the great dynamic that characterized America’s rush toward the twentieth century. The architect was Daniel Hudson Burnham, the fair’s brilliant director of works and the builder of many of the country’s most important structures, including the Flatiron Building in New York and Union Station in Washington, D.C. The murderer was Henry H. Holmes, a young doctor who, in a malign parody of the White City, built his “World’s Fair Hotel” just west of the fairgrounds.

Non-fiction tale Chicago murder and more
Revisado: 07-27-20
Erik Larson tells the story of two men during Chicago’s golden age: Burnham, the architect who had an incredible task to complete, and Holmes, evil sociopath murderer. Excellent story interwoven with facts, names of people, pop culture and trivia of the era. Note: Three years ago, I had read the book, enjoyed it thoroughly, and today just finished the audio book. Highly recommend this!
