Historia
Amidst the galaxy-wide war of the Great Crusade, the Emperor castigates the Word Bearers for their worship. Distraught at this judgement, Lorgar and his Legion seek another path while devastating world after world, venting their fury and fervour on the battlefield. Their search for a new purpose leads them to the edge of the material universe, where they meet ancient forces far more powerful than they could have imagined.

One of the best 40K books

One of the best 40K books, and Gareth does an amazing job narrating. One of my top favorites, up there with Saturnine and the End and the Death.

Historia
The 2500 year old Tao Te King by the Chinese sage Lao-Tse is a jewel of Eastern wisdom. It is counted among the most profound and most translated books of world literature. In deep, mystical language of incomparable imagery, the Tao Te King speaks of the Tao, the divine origin of all existence, and its spiritual force within us. Its intention is to lead us back to the original oneness with the Tao, and so into harmony with the all-embracing wholeness of existence.

Christopher Kent delivers, the emperor protects
Revisado: 07-12-24
All I hear is Hyperion, and the absence of Hyperion. If you like Taoism, a nice listen. If you just listened to Christopher Kent deliver an iconic performance as grey knight, Hyperion, then it must be the warp, err Tao, that brings us here.

Historia
The galaxy is burning. The Emperor's loyal primarchs prepare to do battle with Warmaster Horus and his turncoat Legions on the black sand of Isstvan. Such dark times herald new and yet more terrible things still to come, and when Astropath Kai Zulane unwittingly learns a secret that threatens to tip the balance of the war, he is forced to flee for his life. Alongside a mysterious band of renegades, he plunges into the deadly underworld of Terra itself, hunted like a criminal by those he once trusted.

Surprisingly great
Revisado: 02-24-24
Kind of felt like we were off the beaten path a bit, with the astropaths… but turned out to be an amazing book, where I was glued to it to hear what happened next. Well done! On 2nd listen and having finished the entire Horus heresy and siege of terra — this is one of my top favorite books. It has everything - space marines, custodes, sisters of silence, primarchs, astropaths, THUNDER WARRIORS, the emperor, chaos, warp fun, a navigator. More over, I think Kai Zulaine and Atharva are one of the best pairs

Historia
The Traitor Host of Horus Lupercal tightens its iron grip on the Palace of Terra, and one by one the walls and bastions begin to crumple and collapse. Rogal Dorn, Praetorian of Terra, redoubles his efforts to keep the relentless enemy at bay, but his forces are vastly outnumbered and hopelessly outgunned. Dorn simply cannot defend everything. Any chance of survival now requires sacrifice, but what battles dare he lose so that others can be won? Is there one tactical stroke, one crucial combat, that could turn the tide forever and win the war outright?

Historia
Terra is besieged. The outcome of the war lies on a knife edge. The Warmaster Horus’ bloody seven-year crusade has led to this – the cradle of humanity, where he is to kill his father, the Emperor. With the war at this critical juncture, Sanguinius, primarch of the loyalist Blood Angels, braves the horrors of the Warmaster’s flagship, The Vengeful Spirit, with a single purpose in mind – to slay his brother Horus, decapitate the Heresy once and for all, and stop the forces of Chaos from taking Terra.

We want primaries and Emperor!
Revisado: 12-17-23
Abnett wraps up all the side characters ever mentioned, and spends very little time with the emperor or Sanguinious. I don’t know why there’s this anti-primach thing, where we get glimpses of their views and thought processes. No inner monologues, few speeches. Even less so for the Big E. At the end of Vol 1, I thought we were going to get a kind of Aliens-esque story, going into the Vengeful Spirit and track the Big E and his friends. Instead, we get like “60 seconds of Valdor”, a century of Royal Doran organizing his facts, and a little bit of Sanguinuious. I honestly thought I missed a chapter… like where’s back-and-forth shouting at each other. Does Dan Abnett not have a brother? Does he not know what it’s like when brothers fight? Every thing ever done to each other is brought up and thrown at you! Anyway, if you enjoy Horus Heresy and being in the world, then, you’ll probably still enjoy the 18 hours spent. If you wanted Avengers Infinity War, this ain’t it
