Historia
When Springville residents—at least the ones still alive—are questioned about what happened on prom night, they all have the same explanation . . . Maddy did it. An outcast at her small-town Georgia high school, Madison Washington has always been a teasing target for bullies. And she's dealt with it because she has more pressing problems to manage. Until the morning a surprise rainstorm reveals her most closely kept secret: Maddy is biracial. She has been passing for white her entire life at the behest of her fanatical white father, Thomas Washington.

Real Monster was Papa Washington
Revisado: 02-29-24
loved this story, I was upset I was happy I was surprised all together. Definitely is a more creative take on the classic horror film( and novel) Carrie. I do like how despite getting answers in the epilogue the reader I'd still left with a single question.

Less of a Thiller more of a Mystery
Revisado: 11-16-22
I love her writing style it kept me on my toes, but was okay I wanted more horror. Towards the end it gave me more of a mystery than a thriller, I wanted to be creeped out more. was it shocking yes, keeps you guessing, absolutely. However, if a thriller is what you're after this isn't it in my opinion. The story line doesn't take you where you think it should which is great, it makes you ask a lot ofquestions. An some characters you even dislike which adds important aspects to the story.

Historia
When Dr. Philip Taiwo is called on by a powerful Nigerian politician to investigate the torture and murder of three university students in Port Harcourt, he has no idea that he’s about to be enveloped by a perilous case that is far from cold. Philip is not a detective. He’s an investigative psychologist, an academic more interested in figuring out the why of a crime than actually solving it. But when he steps off the plane and into the frenzy of the provincial airport, he soon realizes that the murder of the Okriki Three isn't as straightforward as he thought.

Not really YA
Revisado: 07-21-21
It an ok read a bit slow in terms of events, with much of the action happening towards the end. In my opinion none of the love interests made sense to me. I felt like it was just thrown together to be inclusive. I would have loved some characters (Lydea) to have more of a story going for them.

With a sharp tongue and an unruly temper, Sage Fowler is not what they'd call a lady, which is perfectly fine with her. Deemed unfit for marriage, Sage is apprenticed to a matchmaker and tasked with wrangling other young ladies to be married off for political alliances. Good but Predictable
Revisado: 01-23-21
I liked the book, but it was very obvious who Ashley really was in an instant. I also thought that for someone as "odd or indifferent" as Sage was she seemed merely ordinary to me. I didn't really find anything extraordinary about her except that she was not truly from money, naturally making her more attractive yuck, I've heard this narrative so many times its boring. Here's a girl that actually reads, oh I'm smitten. The only thing that threw me was Charlie.... I can't say much else without spoiling it.

Then the skill of divining harvests fell into ruin when sorcière Elena Boureanu was blindsided by a curse. Now, after breaking the spell that confined her to the shallows of a marshland and weakened her magic, Elena is struggling to return to her former life. And the vineyard she was destined to inherit is now in the possession of a handsome stranger.

Predictable at Times
Revisado: 11-20-20
I liked the story over all, but Alaina didn't need a love interest. After being cursed for 7 years an eating slimy skin that had no ending, the last thing on her mind should have been how beautiful a man looks. Especially when she suspected it was her exfiance that did the cursing.
I predicted a murder who was responsible and who was actually the person who cursed Alina. I didnt like the ending at all Grasmere was a peach, like any old woman from your neighborhood with no children of her own. However, like elders normally do there is always a story to uncover an she definitely had a story.
I loved the humorous months that occurred I love characters like that, silly but gifted, sometimes clueless, but also can teach a thing or two. I just wanted some parts developed more and some weren't needed at all.
