Revisado: 03-16-22
Loved the story can’t wait for second. Also including bloopers at end was hilarious.
This is another good book and had me tear up in places for similar emotional feels. Really well written.

Historia
When Unit Four - a biological soft robot built and stored high above the Jovian atmosphere - is activated for the first time, it’s in crisis mode. Aliens are attacking the Helium-3 mine it was created to oversee, and now its sole purpose is to defend Earth’s largest energy resource from the invaders in ship-to-ship combat. But something’s wrong. Unit Four doesn’t feel quite right. There are files in its databanks it can’t account for, unusual chemical combinations roaring through its pipes, and the primers it possesses on the aliens are suspiciously sparse.

Way too much detail / synopsis shows promise though
Revisado: 10-21-21
Sometimes excess detail is helpful other times it’s just an annoyance. The story has promise but I couldn’t get past the first 40 minutes as the story could not progress for the amount of detail. Some helpful but most was unnecessary leaving nothing to be imagined and detracting from the emotional atmosphere that you could just see in the subtext. And there it is. The story in the first 40 mins felt like the subtext to the amount of detail.
I will look for other books narrated by Hayden though as she was doing an amazing job of it.
This is one book I will be reading separately I think so I can skim the excess details and… hopefully… enjoy the story.

I actually enjoyed this
Revisado: 07-31-19
Was a little hesitant going in but as the story progressed and the characters developed and the plot thickened/expanded/expounded I came to thoroughly enjoy this tale. It is an underdog story about a young man thrown into a position that was anticipated involving "super hero" powers, aliens, and pre-apocalyptical fights. Almost fantasy but with enough elements of sci-fi to justify itself as such. If you're in need of a superhero/sci-fi tale this really isn't a bad one to pick up/listen too. I'm possibly using my next credit on the next in the series.

Historia
When Monster Hunter International's top hunter, Owen Zastava Pitt, was given a tip about some hunters who had gone missing in action, he didn't realize their rescue mission would snowball into the single biggest operation in MHI's history. Their men are being held prisoner in a horrific nightmare dimension, and the only way to reach them is through the radioactive ruins of a monster-infested war zone. As if that wasn't bad enough, it's also the home base of the powerful creature behind the devastating attacks on the Last Dragon and Copper Lake.

Still a great series
Revisado: 07-30-19
I've been through this series now just about 5 times and still can't get enough. It's up there with my top 5 favorite series. The cliffhanger left in this particular book was a lot larger than I expected and every time I get to it, I get both frustrated and very very excited for the next book. Oliver Wyman does an excellent job at portraying the emotions of the characters whilst not over exaggerating his voice in such a way as to make it... cheesy.... corny.... anyway he does it right. Larry Correia remains an author to be watched and followed. Keep up the good work and I look forward to more M.H.I.

Historia
I'm the guy you come to when your spouse gets bitten by a werewolf, or your honey is kidnapped by a demon. I'm the guy who knows how to save you from an evil curse or angry vampire. At least, I was that guy until the Society of Shadows sent me to Dearmont, Maine, a sleepy town that had a zero rating on the supernatural occurrences scale. But when a woman hires me to find out if her son has been possessed by a demon at a rich kids' party, Dearmont goes from zero to hero.

Revisado: 02-19-19
Want a Jim Butcher like Dresden story but just as good if not better. You found it. This has been an extremely good story with excellent narration by Greg Tremblay. Adam Wright you masterful story teller. Thank you for a story that steps into the paranormal in a way that is both appealing and well thought out. The characters a re relatable. The tale not so unfamiliar that you can't recognize it as a friend. I look forward to reading/listening to the rest of the series. A P.I. unlike any you have ever read about. A story both familiar and different. A tale that leaves you wanting more. If you are at all a fan of modern tales of the paranormal/supernatural grab this book.

A Bounty hunter that reminds me of James Raynor
Revisado: 02-19-19
A well thought out tale with plenty of action a dash of tragedy and a handful of intrigue. I've read enough books to figure out where it was going to end (though not quite the way I expected it to) that it wasn't a complete surprise but it was a welcome conclusion to the first book of what I can tell is a very well written series. I enjoy familiar mixed with the unexpected and this delivered nicely. I must also praise the gravely voice of R.C. Bray as it was most excellent in portraying the characters in the story. If there had to be a tv show or a move I'd hope they'd refer to his voice for the main character. It fits almost too well. Overall the story will pull you in and you will see what the character sees. Just enough is left to the imagination and the right amount is provided for you that you can almost pretend you are the main character. I will be returning to this story at a later date and more than likely continue it in the next books though this one can stand alone.

Historia
Only mutual communication can forge an alliance with the planet's sentient species and prove that mammals are more than tools. Forced to land on a planet they aren't prepared for, human colonists rely on their limited resources to survive. The planet provides a lush but inexplicable landscape—trees offer edible, addictive fruit one day and poison the next, while the ruins of an alien race are found entwined in the roots of a strange plant. Conflicts between generations arise as they struggle to understand one another and grapple with an unknowable alien intellect.

Revisado: 01-04-19
This was excellent exceptional and simply outstanding. A very different perspective than what I expected with elements I would never have guessed. Very well written and illustrated character growth and modeling. A movie or tv series of this would actually be pretty good and this is now one of my bookshelf favorites.

Awesome
Revisado: 09-29-18
Scott Brick has always been one of my favorite narrators and Tom Clancy’s writing has always been epic. I’ve only ever seen the movie and loved the movie as a favorite. Having now listened to the audiobook I can say they are fairly similar if slightly disordered in comparison. If you’ve only ever seen the movie you will love this book even more. More than that this will be your go to when your in the mood for the hunt again.

Story captivating, narrator not my cup of tea
Revisado: 04-24-18
The story was captivating and exceptionally well done. Truly the only reason I finished. The narrator... well I most definitely could not do better but the cadence of her voice was uncomfortable too me and almost depressing. It would start at a mid to high note and about 90% of every pause, every end of sentence, every stop, all need on a low note. To me it gave no depth to the joy the character felt or spice to their back and forth sarcasm and knit picking. One could almost call it melodramatic but the drama was depressed. I would highly recommend this story and if the narrator in this reading is pleasing to you give it a shot. I’ve listened to some of her other readings and they were similar but many were done with more emotion. Will probably read the rest of the series
