Historia
With authoritative reporting honed through eight presidencies from Nixon to Obama, author Bob Woodward reveals in unprecedented detail the harrowing life inside President Donald Trump’s White House and precisely how he makes decisions on major foreign and domestic policies. Woodward draws from hundreds of hours of interviews with firsthand sources, meeting notes, personal diaries, files, and documents. The focus is on the explosive debates and the decision-making in the Oval Office, the Situation Room, Air Force One, and the White House residence.

Fascinating, if piecemeal, glimpse
Revisado: 09-20-18
The content of the book was fascinating - if not unsettling - throughout. I have no quibble with the content; I definitely got my money's worth there. Also, there was nothing salacious. The author focused on grander issues and concerns.
What prevented me from giving it four stars on story was that there was no story. The book was made up a lots and lots of individual instances highlighting the President's, er, unique perspectives yet there was no real order, no overarching theme leading to a conclusion by the author. Some could argue the last sentence is the conclusion, but I expected a cohesive narrative from such an accomplished writer.
Again, it was worth the time and the money and I would recommend it to those wanting more insight into the current occupant of the White House.

Parkour!
Revisado: 08-18-14
If you could sum up Skin Game in three words, what would they be?
Funny yet terrifying.
What did you like best about this story?
The random "Parkour!" moments had me ROFL...which was a problem since I'm driving when I listen.
Have you listened to any of James Marsters’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is my favorite performance by Mr. Marsters so far. In "Cold Days" there was something barely-not-quite-right in the tone, but "Skin Game' is back to awesome Marstersish reading. He has SUCH a feel for the emotion of the story.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Clearly "Parkour!" moved me. ;)

Great Story, Great Narration
Revisado: 08-09-06
Ms. Rosenblatt is one of my favorite narrators, and her approach to Amelia Peabody Emerson is spot-on in my opinion. Having listened to her with the Nevada Barr mysteries, I thought she was American yet it seems her British accent is perfect too. Go figure!
Anyhoo, of the Amelia Peabody series, this is my favorite. The plot twists make it fresh and exciting, and the banter of all characters is hilarious. A very fun listen.

Lovely Story
Revisado: 10-21-05
Rita Mae Brown is one of my favorite authors. She weaves her words into wonderful stories that keep the reader/listener begging for more.
That being said, though, I think the use of a professional voice artist may have served the book at bit better. Ms. Brown's voice and inflection sometimes are a bit jarring or stilted. Maybe this was the first time Ms. Brown has recorded one of her novels?

Historia
In this warm-hearted puzzler, "Mary Minor Harry" Haristeen is preparing for her 20th high school reunion when trouble comes to the seemingly sleepy town of Crozet, Virginia. It all begins when classmates receive anonymous letters with a simple message: "You'll never get old." Some take the note as a compliment, others think it's a harmless practical joke. But when the class womanizer turns up dead, the message suddenly has a far more sinister meaning.

Great Story; Narrator Lacking
Revisado: 08-04-05
The story was exactly what I expect in a "Mrs. Murphy" mystery, so I am pleased in that regard. But the narrator's voice was a bit flat and expressionless. Not enough variety to the different characters' "voices".

Historia
Eerie, dreamlike, set in a world that is weirdly related to our own, The Gunslinger introduces Roland Deschain of Gilead, of In-World that was, as he pursues his enigmatic antagonist to the mountains that separate the desert from the Western Sea in the first volume of The Dark Tower series. Roland, the last gunslinger, is a solitary figure, perhaps accursed, who with a strange single-mindedness traverses an exhausted, almost timeless landscape of good and evil.

Ugh...
Revisado: 02-07-05
Like a few of the less-than-enchanted reviewers here, I was looking forward to such a well-regarded book. I tried to get into it, but it was too desolate and depressing. None of the characters gave me a reason to care what happened with them. After realizing that I was beginning to lose my will to live, I stopped listening. Just not my cup of tea.
