Not up to his usual level of writing. The story lacked anything truly interesting or engaging. the author's note at the end is long and pointless or anyone outside of his family.

Really drags, lots of fluff little substance
Revisado: 10-17-23
if you're looking for a book to help you communicate better and give you specific Instructions or steps to be a better communicator, this is not it.
This book feels like it really drags. Most chapters feel like the entire point could be reduced to four or five paragraphs.

How the Irish Saved Civilization

Historia
Thomas Cahill tells the story of how Europe evolved from the classical age of Rome to the medieval era. Without Ireland, the transition could not have taken place. Not only did Irish monks and scribes maintain the very record of Western civilization, they brought their uniquely Irish world-view to the task. As Cahill delightfully illustrates, so much of the liveliness we associate with medieval culture has its roots in Ireland. When the seeds of culture were replanted on the European continent, it was from Ireland that they were germinated.

Decent book, bad narration
Revisado: 11-26-22
The book is 80% setup, entire chapters of poetry read in Latin and then reread in English which seemed to be filler more than useful information. You could skip to the final 2-3 chapters and learn how the Irish saved civilization

the ending was a letdown and left a lot of unanswered questions. all things considered, I don't think the series is worth what audible charges for it

You are a failed novelist about to turn 50. A wedding invitation arrives in the mail: Your boyfriend of the past nine years is engaged to someone else. You can't say yes - it would be too awkward - and you can't say no - it would look like defeat. On your desk are a series of invitations to half-baked literary events around the world. Question: How do you arrange to skip town? Answer: You accept them all.

Alisa Marchenko has reunited with her daughter, and even though she hasn't figured out how to get Jelena to accept Leonidas yet, she dreams of the three of them starting a new life together. They can return the Star Nomad to its original purpose of running freight and staying out of trouble (mostly). Before that can happen, Alisa must fulfill the promise she made to Jelena: that she and her crew will retrieve young Prince Thorian, the boy who has become Jelena's best friend. But Thorian was kidnapped by the rogue Starseer Tymoteusz.

More romance novel than scifi
Revisado: 08-29-22
Since Leonidas got his mojo back and they started hooking up this book has been more romance novel than sci-fi. Seriously, paragraphs on top of paragraphs about longings and an entire chapter about having sex is ridiculous

Mediocre Mormon maritime message
Revisado: 07-07-22
See what I did with the title? That is better writing than most of this book. It doesn't go a chapter without some mention of God or church or sin. And don't bother finding the YouTube page he mentions to listen to their music. Remember the Poetry you wrote when you were 12 or 13? It's like that.

it sounded like they were just reading the Wikipedia page for Rhode Island. I am not joking, there was a part where they mention tourist season and then literally named all 12 months, one at a time, in order.
