Great story about a misunderstood character!

Loved this point of view. You always heard about him from everyone else’s perspective and how it is great to hear about him from the characters perspective. I love when the author does this. It’s a wonderful long book about an interesting character. His one flaw and admittedly a terrible one, is his constant self sacrifice. Other than that I think he is right up there near Styxx as a character favorite. Surely one of my favorites.

Voice actor is phenomenal.

I love the way the author interweaves fairytale characters, Greek mythology and modern day fantasy. The voice actor is PHENOMENAL. She does a wonderful job navigating the Irish brogue of the main character as well as the different accents of all the others.

Get the Hardcopy! It’s a good storyline. The narration is right up there in the top 5 worse I’ve heard. I have over 270 titles

The book is probably really, really great. The plot seems interesting and unique. The Narrator is SO, SO darn AWFUL. I have to return the book. I’m only one chapter in and I cannot take it. I hate to return books but man. It’s the narration. The male voices that the female narrator does just sounds like when someone is mocking a male and trying their hardest to make the person sound goofy or infantile.

This is a great listen. Elizabeth Evans is a win purchase whenever she is the Narrator. The book was well written and I loved the pace of it. Excited for the next one which hopefully is coming soon.

Adjoa Andoh made a really good book GREAT!!!

I loved this narration and book enough to listen to it back to back for days on my long commutes to and from work every day. I LOVED IT! The narrators flawless switch between all the characters/voices was everything. Can’t wait to listen to more from here and read more from this author.

Ugh. The male narrator

I really wanted to like this book. I only rarely get a romance novel because the choices for IR aren’t as well written or flattering to the female character. Usually they are written with some deep inset trauma that drives them, instead of intelligence and ambition. This book was OK (just OK) in trying to represent an Afro Latina positively so I gave it a try but OH MAN! When the male narrator came on and ATTEMPTED to portray a female character he very literally sounded like the previous president of the US. I have never heard anything so awful in attempting to sound like the opposite sex. I cringed EVEY SINGLE TIME he switched to a female voice. It became so distracting that with over 5 hrs left, I have to return this book. I JUST CANNOT DO IT. So very bad. I have over 220 titles in my library and have had an audible subscription for over 5 years and this will be the third book I’ve ever returned.

My least favorite work of hers

I was excited when I saw that SK had a new book out. Very excited. I used my credit without having heard/read a review first and without it being the longer length audiobooks I prefer.
I made a mistake. This purchase was a mistake. The main characters go from being unknown to each other to being madly in love all within an hour or so of the books beginning. I had to rewind to see if maybe I slept through a section and missed some critical parts but no. It was that quick an jarring a transition from strangers to lovers.
The highlights were 1) the brief dialogues of Shadow and Thorne. They still seemed pretty ok script as characters. 2) Fred Bergman
That’s all I can say about the book.

Short review for a great audiobook

I'm not one for writing long reviews or many reviews in general. This is only my second review however, I listen to A LOT of audiobooks. This book was great from beginning, middle to end. I especially loved it having listened to the audiobook on Fain (sp?) Hawk. I loved Talin as a character and I loved his relationship with Felicia. I highly recommend this audiobook, author and narrator.

Could not stop listening!

This book had me from the first paragraph. I found myself so wound up in the fabric of the story that I ran my longest workout run while listening to it. I didn't watch and episode of my favorite television show (which is in its final season) to listen to this book. I sat in my car in my driveway for 45 minutes before going in my house because I knew I just had to finish the chapter. The protagonist will lure you in with her wits and her anxieties and the antagonists will make your blood boil. This book is great from beginning to end a I hate that there isn't another to listen to immediately. The audio book narrator is great and is how I was led to this book.
