A true family Love Story
Revisado: 02-10-25
The author was able to really round out most of her characters. She had a mother's fierce love for her baby expressed well. she showed how children perceived their parents love towards them and their siblings is not always reality. There was the childish belief that just because someone cares about you enough to spend lots of time with you doesn't mean that the don't also harbor some secret or feelings that will hurt you when you know the truth. I enjoyed the audio book.

Historia
1916. The two-street town of Wallace is not exactly what Ellen Webster had in mind when she accepted a teaching position in Wyoming, but within a year’s time she’s fallen in love—both with the High Plains and with a handsome cowboy named Charlie Bacon. Life is not easy in the flat, brown corner of the state where winter blizzards are unforgiving and the summer heat relentless. But Ellen and Charlie face it all together, their relationship growing stronger with each shared success, and each deeply felt tragedy.

Historia
Years ago, the day before Ellie moved from Georgia to California, she and her best friend, Nolan, sat beneath the Spanish moss of an ancient oak tree where they wrote letters to each other, and sealed them in a rusty old metal box. The plan was to return 11 years later and read them. But now, as that date arrives, much has changed. Ellie, bereft of the faith she grew up with, is a single mom living in a tired apartment trying to make ends meet. Sometimes she watches television to catch a glimpse of her old friend - Nolan, now an NBA star, whose terrible personal tragedies fueled his faith and athletic drive in equal measure.

This story show how prayer can calm the heart and allow forgiveness to transcend all sins and hurts. it also portrays that God's timing is not Ours. He will work all things for the good for those who love Him.

class divide
Revisado: 04-14-24
The recognition of both the gentry and the servant class that Katie was as bright or brighter than any of the wealthy. it was very interesting that the military would not allow her to train as a nurse yet she became the best auto mechanic. Also sweet Katie's recognition that true love between and man and woman has nothing to do with class rank in society.

Historia
Ever wondered what it might be like to be a mail order bride? Or the groom, already married to a woman he's never laid eyes on? On the Canadian prairies in 1886, having a mail order romance wasn't unusual. Noah Ferguson desperately needed help on his farm. Annie Tompkins knew she couldn't go on working in Lazenby's cotton mill. So she'd been a little less than honest in her letters, was that really so terrible?

Love longing death grief and love again
Revisado: 02-27-24
This book brought tears to my eyes several times. The struggle that pioneers had living so far away from other people, No close doctors, The need to make friends and family of those who did live close. How fragile life is and the fine line between life and death. This book would make a perfect Hallmark movie

So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Lot's of Surprises
Revisado: 07-24-22
I loved this audio book. The narrator is very easy to listen to and kept my attention. I didn't want to stop the recording to eat dinner! I shed tears numerous times throughout the story. Just when I thought I had figured out where the author was going there was a twist in the plot right up to the very end. This is one of the best books I have listen to and look forward to checking out something else by this author.
