Historia
Three months ago, the horrible news that the Dark Druids captured his beloved pet gryphon sent 13-year-old Jake Everton reeling - especially since he knows he’s the one the warlock brotherhood really wants. It’s a trap, and poor Red is just the bait. Well aware of the threat, the Elders have forbidden the daring boy hero from taking any action to rescue his faithful companion.

this story would have been so much better if the first narrator's voice was used. it was hard to get through parts of this book listening to him...I hate thinking that he'll be used for the future books as well.

Historia
Can one boy stand between two kingdoms at war? Jaevid Broadfeather has grown up as a wartime refugee, hiding from the world because of his mixed racial heritage. He feels his future is hopeless - until a chance encounter with a wild dragon lands him in Blybrig Academy, a place usually forbidden to anyone but the rich and royal. But Jaevid's case is special; no dragon has voluntarily chosen a rider in decades, so the proud riders of Blybrig must begrudgingly let him join their brotherhood despite his bloodline.

Pretty Good
Revisado: 01-14-20
This book was much better than expected. The only reason I just decided to get it was because at only eight hours it's not very long. But it was totally worth it.

So good....so far much better than the Heroes of Olympus series....the narrator is excellent. Very engaging book....It took no time to listen to this...I wish it were much longer. I was on the fence wondering if I should use a credit to get the book...but I have no regrets in the least.

Was just not for me. I read other reviews saying it was great and funny. I didn't think so. The narrator was excellent, but the story not so.

I loved the strange animals, and the fast paced story. It was easy to picture everything happening. But there are a few blips that I think has to do with the recording.

A Good REread
Revisado: 03-17-19
Read it a long time ago. Then I bought it on B&& then they cancelled the program and I lost all the audiobooks. Just as good as I remembered. The book has lots of strange animals, scientific jargon, and a fast paced story that makes it so easy to picture everything happening within the book.

An okay story...but there is way too much cursing. I did like the narrators, but the dragon part of the story didn't really start until the very end.

Then a vision from the Eldunarí, unexpected visitors, and an exciting Urgal legend offer a much-needed distraction and a new perspective. This volume features three original stories set in Alagaësia, interspersed with scenes from Eragon's own unfolding adventure.

Too Short
Revisado: 01-29-19
Really good but way too short. I think the author has given us some hints about where book five of the cycle will be focused on. I really liked that the narrator was the same used in the previous books.

Slow start, but easily a great new dragon series
Revisado: 04-10-15
It was a little slow at the beginning, but after a couple of chapters I loved it A whole new dragon and rider series. Novak's alternate world history with dragons as an air force is just wonderful The different dragon breeds are all really neat. Unlike many other books, the specifics of their size and color are very thorough, Most other books say a dragon was as big as a hill.....but hills can be any number of sizes. These dragons are described with exact weights, making it so much easier to visualize something that's eighteen tons is a lot easier than as big as a hill. Each character, from the dragons to their riders, have distinct personalities that leaves one want to know more. The way Simon Vance vocalizes Temeraire is absolutely perfect, and just as impressive is the way he does the same with Lawrence. Bravo for Novak for creating this new and wonderful world.

Ammon's job was simple, to care for the dragon eggs in the Nest. It should have been easy, but it wasn't. When the sun rose after the hatch, he had made an enemy of the most powerful man in the kingdom, and he would soon learn that was the least of his problems!

A wonderful find!
Revisado: 01-27-15
An excellent book. I was so pleased with this one. From the first chapter I knew I was going to like the entire work. Though most of the events are rather predictable, it was still a fun listen. The names of the characters, places, and other object were easy to remember yet still had an air of mystery. The only thing I wasn't overly ecstatic about was that the dragons were only grey and black, except the main character's gold dragon Folgid. I also wish the dragons could talk to the humans in the story. The only dragon to speak is Folgid, and only a few words. Still, I can wait until the second book comes out sometime this year. Stevens has revealed that it will be Forging of Bonds....hopefully it comes out soon.
