Historia
Some of the parchment pages were the color of cream, thick and substantial, made to last many, many lifetimes. Other pages were thin and desiccated, positively yellow from age, and crackled alarmingly as Van Richten turned them over. There were no ornate illuminations, no fussy borders, only lines of plain text in hard black ink. The flowing handwriting was a bit difficult to follow at first; the writer's style of calligraphy had not been in common use for 300 years. No table of contents, but from the dates it looked to be some kind of history.

A friend recommended this book during a discussion about Strahd’s mindset in Ravenloft. The story was engaging and well written. Definitely worth the time investment to read or listen to.

Historia
When it rains, it pours...and sometimes love finds you even when you can’t find yourself. Fate has given me a second chance at the happiness I once knew in the odd Southern town of Grimm Cove. But only if I can come to terms with some rather eye-opening revelations. Supernaturals are a real thing. I'm a witch. My high school sweetheart, who happens to be the Chief of Police in Grimm Cove, is my fated mate and a wolf-shifter. Ghosts exist and can be very nosy and meddlesome. Someone is murdering witches left and right.

Historia
Ynyr was a third male, and while he was a fit and worthy warrior, he had always known that no female would ever join with him. Too many looked down on his family because of his mother's refusal to leave his manno. He knew Ull would be able to overcome this because he was a first male and would one day be a lord; maybe even Vali, since he was a second male, but neither Ynyr nor his younger brother, Zev, would ever be acceptable to a female. The most they could hope for was to serve their house with honor, but that all changed with the arrival of the females from Earth.

Love the new narrators
Revisado: 11-19-19
Unlike some of my fellow reviewers I appreciate the change in narrators. I almost stopped listening with the previous two. The production value on this book feels a lot higher than previous versions too.
Well rounded story and if you're in the mood for a simple chick lit escape, this is well worth a credit.

Historia

But a series of ill-timed omens and a deathbed promise to her grandmother have sent her on a quest to Half-Moon Hollow, Kentucky, to secure her family’s magical potency for the next generation. Her supernatural task? To unearth four artifacts hidden by her grandfather before a rival magical family beats her to it. Complication One: The artifacts are lost somewhere in vampire Jane Jameson’s occult bookshop. Complication Two: Her new neighbor, Jed Trudeau, keeps turning up half-naked at the strangest times....

Great Story, but too short!
Revisado: 06-10-18
This was a great quick read; my only complaint is that it was too short! The writing was a little jumbled in places (not bad enough to detract from the storyline but noticeable.) The characters were well thought out and developed, I became invested in them immediately. The story definitely pulled me in and I would enjoy seeing this re-written as a full-length novel at some point. The narrator did a great job on all the voices, it was very easy to listen to and follow.

A Reverse Fairytale with an Edge
Revisado: 06-10-18
I really enjoyed this book and would classify it as a reverse fairy tale with an edge. It is a well written and rounded out story, setting up the next book quite nicely. The book is touted as a YA novel, I did have a little trouble with some of the events that befell the protagonist and without providing spoilers, I think I would recommend this for more of a mature audience. Actually, the story itself would have worked wonderfully without them. The narrator did a fantastic job and was very easy to follow, she voiced all the characters in very unique ways and I enjoyed listening to her. If you’re looking for a fairytale with a strong protagonist at the helm this book is for you, I’d definitely suggest spending a credit on it.

I actually preferred the new narrator over the old one but I listened to the three books consecutively so they were fresh in my mind and easy to compare.

loved the story, not the overly graphic sex scenes
