When life gets serous . . .
Revisado: 05-14-22
I hope it’s time for Mary Kay Andrews to debut another book. The Homewreckers was not disappointing. Funny, romantic, relationships, and of course a little mystery thrown in makes it the perfect book for just when I need it.

Hate filled and I don’t want to see it
Revisado: 12-20-20
This is not the comedy as advertised, but an extreme right wing screed. I don’t know how to delete it and wish I had never downloading this horrible hateful ppdcast.

Unexpected Joy
Revisado: 04-09-16
I download this book some time ago but I always found something better to read:listen to than this 1960s publication. Of course the 1960s where are the heyday of spy novels and movies. Bond, James Bond, was a sensation and we couldn't get enough of international intrigue. I want Kimes Mrs. Pollifax. 50 years later I get to enjoy a spy story full of humor and kindness. Of course there were narrow escapes, brilliant inventiveness, and just plain luck.

Better the second time around
Revisado: 02-11-16
Like many, I read this book when it was first published. I loved it. I loved the story and how the characters grew. This time, I listened to the audio book which brought the story even more alive. This time, I grasped the nuances and the many themes of human behavior.

Historia
An historic literary event: the publication of a newly discovered novel, the earliest known work from Harper Lee, the beloved, best-selling author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning classic To Kill a Mockingbird. Originally written in the mid-1950s, Go Set a Watchman was the novel Harper Lee first submitted to her publishers before To Kill a Mockingbird. Assumed to have been lost, the manuscript was discovered in late 2014.

More than delighted!
Revisado: 07-25-15
Based on reviews, I was not expecting this be as good as To Kill a Mockingbird. The reviewers were wrong in my estimation. This book explains so much of the conflict the Southerners faced over civil rights. It was explained on a deeply human level. Reese Witherspoon is a real southerner and we were not subjected to a fake southern accent. I love this book!

My all-time favorite
Revisado: 06-04-15
I have read this many times, however the audiobook version is now my favorite. Sissy Spacek narrates with a real, not fake southern accent. Her inflections and understanding of southern culture brings the story alive!
