Historia
Cracking the communication code between husband and wife involves understanding one thing: that unconditional respect is as powerful for him as unconditional love is for her. It's the secret to marriage that every couple seeks, and yet few couples ever find. While both men and women deserve both love and respect, in the midst of conflict the driving need for a woman is love and the driving need for a man is respect. When either of these needs isn’t met, things get crazy. Based on over three decades of counseling, as well as scientific and biblical research, Love and Respect is for anyone.

This used to be common sense that you need to respect your husband and show your wife love but we have lost this idea in today's society. I love what this book teaches and can be used to improve any male/female relationship. Show any man respect and you will get a positive response. I like to listen to this book over and over to remind me when I lose sight of this.

I have been a lifelong fan of Sherlock Holmes adventures and have read them over and over in addition to reading/watching the numerous book/tv/movie adaptations that come out. Sherlock is a character that never gets old to me. Having said that I was up for reading this series and giving it a fair shot, but really wary of it being an older/retired Sherlock. After I got used to the idea a couple of chapters in I have to say I really loved the book and went back to read it a second time almost immediately. I am really glad that someone has taken up the gauntlet and given us more Sherlock stories with the twist of Mary added in. The story was well written and had the excitement of the old stories, which I think are precursors to action movies. The eccentricities of Sherlock have been carried over beautifully and treated with respect. It is a relief that he didn't turn into a bumbling old man while the young girl takes over, I don't think I could have stood for that. I am looking forward to reading more in this series and would highly recommend the book to anyone.

Riveting!

I really loved this as a follow up to a great start in this series. This second book was probably even better than the first, I was really intrigued by the story and couldn't stop listening. When I first started to listen to the series, after reading the first couple in print, I was a bit annoyed by CJ Critt's narration but I have realized that this is the voice the author heard when writing the books (I was the one who had it wrong). The book was detailed, but not so much that you got bogged down in the details of the crime. It was well written, and kept me interested all the way through. I loved the development of the recurring characters and the depth of the one's who are just for this book. I know that this series has been going on for a while and I am just reading something that came out a long time ago, but the series is fairly new to me and I love it! I have quite varied interests in my reading so about every 3rd or 4th book I go back to this and the Bones series and I love them both. I always look forward to reading the next book in the Scarpetta series.

Love this series!
Revisado: 05-09-13
The Irene books are a light, easy read that can at times be predictable, but are always enjoyable. I picked up one of the series by accident and have been hooked ever since. I love to read them in print and listen to the audio version as well. In my opinion the narrator is the perfect voice for Irene and reminds me of a smoother version of CJ Critt's narrations. The relationship between Irene and her husband, Frank, is a great addition to the series. I love that he is from Bakersfield (my hometown) and it was really fun to hear some of their back story in this one. I can't wait to start the next one in this series. Definitely would recommend this book, and the series to anyone who likes mysteries.

Good enough to read over and over!

When I first discovered this book I was working for someone who I considered a dragon lady. It made me feel better because she was nowhere near as bad as this person. I love the funny and witty story through this horrible first job. We have all had a horrible job/boss and it was good to see it in print. I am sure there are people in the fashion industry who think of this book as heresy but I really loved this story and have listened several times. The narrator was excellent and really brought the characters to life. Definitely one I would recommend.

Delightful story!
Revisado: 04-30-13
I had already seen the movie when I purchased this audio book. When I started listening I figured it would be a lighthearted romantic comedy. It was all that and more, there is more depth to this story than I expected. It pulled me in and kept me interested all the way through the book and then I listened again. The whole experience was delightful! I would definitely recommend this book.

One of my favorite from Sandra Dallas
Revisado: 04-30-13
The Persian Pickle Club was the first book I read by Sandra Dallas & I was instantly hooked. This (or any book by Sandra Dallas) is a quick and comfortable read. I love how she weaves small, day to day, things from the time setting into her work. There are some really great references to the Depression in PPC and how it affected everyday people. This book is about a quilting group, but you don't have to be a quilter to enjoy it. I loaned it to my mother and she read the book practically in one sitting since she was so drawn into the story. The characters are well written, historically accurate, and fun to read. Having given several copies of this book away as gifts I can heartily say that I recommend it as well as all of her other books.

'It was the best of times, it was the worst of times'; so the recording begins and ends with some of Dickens's best-known words, and between those lines is every Briton's view of the worst excesses of the French Revolution. Set in London and Paris before and during the French Revolution, the audiobook tells the story of a French doctor who is imprisoned for 18 years in the Bastille in Paris. Upon his release, he moves to London with his daughter, Lucie, whom he had never met.

This is one of my favorite books ever. The first time I had trouble with it, but found it was easier to keep everything straight once I saw one of the movie adaptations. Since I've read this book at least 4 times and is one of my favorites. I am getting ready to read it again. I love the way Martin Jarvis reads the book.

Epic story, epic journey!
Revisado: 04-30-13
This has got to be one of my favorite books ever. I think I've read it at least 3 or 4 times. This is one of the type of stories that has so many twists and turns that it leaves you emotionally exhausted at the end (which to me is the sign of an epic/great story). When I first saw the book I didn't think I would be interested since I've never really been interested in Asian history but the concept sounded interesting so I decided to try it. Memoirs has opened up an all new area of history to me and that was all I read for months afterwards. Asian history is facinating and there are several fiction books that illustrate that beautifully. I have purchased this book as a gift several times. The story is a journey not only through history but through this girl's life that pulls you in and takes you with her. It has all the elements of a long and interesting life: sadness, struggle, happiness, friends, family, emotion.
The narrator is perfect for this story. She reads the book in a way that you can imagine a major motion picture in your head. If you have seen the movie or read the book in print don't skip this audio version because it is so worth the read!
