Not bad
Revisado: 07-01-24
I enjoyed this book more than Book 1. The narrator gave these characters their own voice (slightly). It made a difference, to me at least.
I was more engaged in the beginning than by the end but still a solid read.

I liked the end
Revisado: 06-27-24
It was okay. I didn’t get invested in the MCs or the story until the very end. Since this was a B&B retelling it was rather predictable.
It was quick and easy and good enough to read the author’s other works when I need a break from intense stories.

Noir, harlequin style
Revisado: 06-25-24
Like a harlequin noir which now I know is not my thing. The use of slang was overused and dated the story. The narrator seemed to have a difficult time with the slang, it did not roll off his tongue and felt forced.
The chauvinistic and homophobic language, although meant to showcase the machismo culture, was too normalized for my taste. Although the FMC did exert her power and did not cower, it wasn’t enough to drown out the male characters’ language and thoughts.

Good in between, light book
Revisado: 06-24-24
Overall, okay. This book was missing some of the humor I enjoyed in the first two. There was humor it just didn’t hit the same way.
I wanted to know how the plot ended and it’s an HEA but if the audiobook wasn’t free with my Audible sub I might not have finished the series.
It light and good as an in between.

Historia
When I got offered a job at The Night Firm, I had no idea how much my life was about to change. I didn't know vampires exist. That dragons rule a world full of beings most think are fairytales. And I didn't know how much I would come to care for the Night brothers. But now it's all about to fall apart.

Lovable characters but slightly predictable plot and needs more relationship development.
Revisado: 06-23-24
Overall I enjoyed the story. It is on the more predictable side but the authors do assert their views on some deep theoretical and humanistic themes. Agrees g with their views helped me get over some of the slower moving scenes.
I think the authors could have moved the relationships a little more. I think it could have made the plot feel a little fuller.
I still really enjoy the intelligence and humor of the FMC.

Historia
I've been offered a job at the Night Firm. To work for four of the hottest men I've ever met. Correction. Four of the hottest vampires I've ever met. They don't tell me what I'll be doing. They don't tell me where I'll be working. Simply that I am their only candidate. If I take the job, I'll gain financial freedom, a new home, and answers to questions better left unasked. But at what cost?

Paranormal romance-ish

Quick read, nice pacing, bad ass FMV. RH although nothing of smut value actually occurs.
Paranormal courtroom drama which was compelling.

Overall great but has some issues
Revisado: 06-22-24
Repetitive feelings with no resolution. I mean they keep talking about forever and that they can’t live without each other and they literally kill for each other and he still wonders if she loves him or just having fun??
The side quests were too long.
She can’t lie well about little things but the big reveal to Samkiel? He can’t fucking tell.
They keep promising to tell each other yet can’t talk to each other. It’s feeling like a toxic relationship. Passion and possessiveness but no communication. It makes it difficult to figure out what they see in each other, other than the sex.
I really loved Camilla’s story arch. Funny and real.
FMC blames herself for things that are not in her control and blames others for things she can control. It’s frustrating to read, you want her to see the truth. You want her to see what’s in front of her, you want her to see past her trauma.
FMC is just a bundle of trauma triggers.

Better and worse than the 1st book.
Revisado: 06-17-24
There were parts of this book that were better than the first and parts that were not.
It probably could have been about 100 pages shorter. I appreciate character development that moves at a more realistic pace but some of the events were repetitive and didn’t move the development forward until the plot caught up.
Still enjoyed this book. Strong female lead with realistic morally gray leanings. Don’t get me wrong there were moments that were over emotional but I really connected with these characters.
Loved to see the different POVs.
Spice was high but only in the last quarter of the book. As a pro-smut reader it would have been nice to maybe explore other side characters romance a little more.

Epic World Building
Revisado: 06-12-24
Epic world building, I mean, you have to be patient. Not that it is boring as you get to know the world but it takes almost half the book to start to feel comfortable with the world and all the characters. Once the story gets going, it is really cinematic and flow so well.
Liam and Diana, A+ banter. Be patient here as well because the slow burn is loooooong but worth it.
Love the fact the FMC is essentially not loveable in the beginning and it is so refreshing to have a MMC love interest that does not teach the FMC, but evolve with her.

Revisado: 06-06-24
These two MCs are so hot together. FMC working through trauma while with MMC was so well done and real. The humor, the Irish accents, the bonus chapter, mmmm, too good.
