Historia
When former spy Maggie Bird retired to the seaside hamlet of Purity, Maine, she settled in for a quiet life with breathtaking views. But enemies from her past soon threatened to destroy everything. Maggie survived, thanks to her wits and the collective intelligence of the Martini Club, the circle of ex-CIA friends in her cocktail-sipping book club. Their handiwork, however, caught the attention of young police chief Jo Thibodeau. Now Jo and her neighborhood ex-spies have an uneasy alliance.

Trigger for anyone healing from Childhood abuse
Revisado: 04-22-25
I read (listen) to a lot of books in many different genres and this one is so good yet so incredibly triggering to anyone who would be healing it suffering from childhood abuse. I would say to be very careful before renting this book. Narrator is incredible.
I love the quick mentions of Mercy & Truman from the author’s other series.
I think Kendra Elliott is a very talented author.

Historia
Eccentric, reclusive Walter Rennert lies cold at the bottom of his stairs. At first glance the scene looks straightforward: a once-respected psychology professor done in by booze and a bad heart. But his daughter, Tatiana, insists that her father has been murdered, and she persuades Clay Edison to take a closer look at the grim facts of Rennert's life. What emerges is a history of scandal and violence and an experiment gone horribly wrong that ended in the brutal murder of a coed.

Too many characters to keep track of
Revisado: 04-15-25
I don’t review books that often. I struggled through this book. The narrator wasn’t my favorite and there were too many characters to keep track of. Not my favorite.

Haunted by all the serial killers she caught, she left a stunning career behind to join the US Marshals. As a Deputy Marshal, Alexa—fit, and as tough as she is brilliant—could immerse herself in a simple career of hunting down fugitives and bringing them to justice.

Narrator probably had a large part of why I gave such low ratings. Story line feels flat - not sure if I’ll continue the series.

Historia
Nine strangers receive a list with their names on it in the mail. Nothing else, just a list of names on a single sheet of paper. None of the nine people know or have ever met the others on the list. They dismiss it as junk mail, a fluke—until very, very bad things begin happening to people on the list. First, a well-liked old man is drowned on a beach in the small town of Kennewick, Maine. Then, a father is shot in the back while running through his quiet neighborhood in suburban Massachusetts. A frightening pattern is emerging, but what do these nine people have in common?

Nine Lives
Revisado: 03-20-25
This is my first book by this author. I’m not sure it’s his best, but I will likely download another book, possibly the most popular one to see if I enjoy it more. It was “okay”. I did listen to it quickly, so it’s possible I enjoyed it more than I think. Anyway, I’d say probably use a credit for it.

Can’t wait to read book 2!
Revisado: 10-23-24
Book 1 feels like a parallel story to the movie Kiss the Girls starring Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman.
The narrator is great and I hurriedly listened to the 5 hour long story with anticipation of each chapter.
I recommend you use 3 credits and listen to the series!

Historia
Frank Szatowski is shocked when his daughter, Maggie, calls him for the first time in three years. He was convinced that their estrangement would become permanent. He’s even more surprised when she invites him to her upcoming wedding in New Hampshire. Frank is ecstatic, and determined to finally make things right. He arrives to find that the wedding is at a private estate—very secluded, very luxurious, very much out of his league. It seems that Maggie failed to mention that she’s marrying Aidan Gardner, the son of a famous tech billionaire.

Families are complicated
Revisado: 10-20-24
TBH, I struggled getting through this book even though I throughly enjoyed his book Hidden Pictures very much!
This book, it’s predictable and yet, not.
I think you should judge for yourself.
What does the last sentence of the book really mean??? Use a credit and see if you figure it out.
After finishing it, I listened to the author’s interview of the debut launch of this book and it helped fill in some things in between the lines.
I have enjoyed other narrators more but I did finish the book and will still look for more books by Jason Rekulak.
