Historia
Dante Notte has heard it said that love hurts. He just wasn't expecting it to run him over in an RV. Still, a punctured lung and broken ribs are nothing compared to the full-body shock he feels whenever he's near the vehicle's driver, Mary Winslow. He needs to keep her safe from their pursuers while he rescues his brother. Most challenging of all, he needs to claim this smart, stubborn woman as his life mate.

The story had some redeeming qualities but the writing lacked any substance. Story was a bit prosaic. The characters had potential but were mired in trite and childish dialog. Over explaining every movement of the characters became repetitive and frustrating. Truth be told I only bought this book because I got the author confused with Diane Duvall who wrote several excellent stories about immortals. You should check those books out!

Great work of Art!
Revisado: 04-17-25
Russian history has always been a favorite of mine. This story brought the people of Russia to life for me. The lives of its citizens from the Bolshevik uprising to the 1950’s was presented expertly through the eyes of Count Rustoff and all the wonderful characters in the Magnolia Hotel. I loved each & every moment of this story and will be re-reading it again & again for years to come.

Simply the Best!
Revisado: 03-17-25
I have listened to over 300 books on Audible & pretty much enjoyed every one. I am a true believer reader!:)
However this novel touched my heart in a way that I can’t begin to explain. It was so honestly written that it spoke to my heart over & over again. The narration was unprecedented! Robert Shapiro is now my favorite narrator & that’s saying a lot! His calm, easy & emotional telling of this story was unparalleled! I’m going to search out other books by him immediately.
As for Amy Harmon, well I’ve always been a fan but now her writing & imagination has a permanent space in my head & heart! Thank you Amy! This story is one I will listen to again & again & never ever forget!

Wasn’t sure at first if I was going to like this book. It deals with death but in an extremely interesting and positive way. Writing was impressive & it won me over. I liked the way Cherry talked to the reader. Dialog was smart, often funny & always insightful to character development.
Narration was excellent! Love the Aussie accents! Very well written done book & very enjoyable read! I highly recommend it!

As one of the few witches in Britain, Mika Moon knows she has to hide her magic, keep her head down, and stay away from other witches so their powers don’t mingle and draw attention. And as an orphan who lost her parents at a young age and was raised by strangers, she’s used to being alone and she follows the rules...with one exception: an online account, where she posts videos "pretending" to be a witch. She thinks no one will take it seriously.

Historia
Christa Playfoot is looking for a fresh start after her divorce. Having lost her Michelin-starred restaurant, she hadn't expected to be job hunting and single just before Christmas. When her best friend says she's recommended Christa for a gig as a private chef over the Christmas period, Christa can't think of a reason to say no. Christa has no idea what to expect but it's certainly not grumpy billionaire divorcee Marc Ferrier and his rambunctious twin sons, or the beautiful but cheerless country estate, Pudding Hall, that they inhabit.

A warm & funny story. A male voice for the male characters would have been better though. The narrator was great at female characters but fell short with male ones. Just FYI. Other than that I loved the book & read it quickly!
