I’ll admit that I have a bias in non-fiction audiobooks for those read by the author. It’s not that professional narrators cannot do a superb job, but there’s just something about hearing an author’s words in their own voice, their own tone, their own cadence. High marks there.

This book intertwines business anecdotes and social commentary with a deeply personal narrative, where lisa’s stories are both input to and output from her admittedly progressive worldview. Her personal values are unapologetically part of her version of capitalism, but the advocacy for the private sector to care (more) deeply for those who give it life can be universally applied.

This book serves as an entertaining counterpoint to the myriad business books that inhabit only the realm of the academic. I look forward to what lisa’s next chapter may have in store.
