Narrator sounds robotic. I felt like he would repeat things too many times. How many times does he have to tell you that Lemmy doesn’t play bass like a regular bass player. Not that interesting. Should have been a much better book.

I couldn't stop listening. Flea definitely had an interesting upbringing. He's one of my favorite bassists and I really enjoyed listening to him tell these these stories about his early years.

Hard to listen to

I read this book years ago and always wanted to read it again. I decided to go the audiobook route and what a mistake that was. It's a great book but Eckhart Tolle's delivery just didn't do it for me. Very hard t listen to him read. Returning this one, just can't listen to it.

Maybe my expectations were too high for this book by Laird who I see as a superhero. I have tons of respect and admiration for what he's accomplished as an athlete and human being. The book delves into many topics including; Hawaiin traditions, technology, entrepreneurship, health, spirituality and the environment. The common theme is about how all this "stuff" (a word that was so overused It became annoying) is interconnected. Even though part of the subtitle is "Life Beyond the Ocean" he winds up talking about the ocean quite a bit! All in all this book was just OK
