Historia
One of Madeline Cullen’s happiest childhood memories is of working with her Aunt Maddie in the quaint and cozy Printed Letter Bookshop. But by the time Madeline inherits the shop nearly 20 years later, family troubles and her own bitter losses have hardened Madeline’s heart toward her once-treasured aunt - and the now struggling bookshop left in her care. While Madeline intends to sell the shop as quickly as possible, the Printed Letter’s two employees have other ideas.

Historia
Back in college, Jane Lewis would have given anything to be like homecoming queen Connie Bryan. Instead she was just Plain Jane - overweight, frumpy, and painfully shy. That was then. Today, a lovely and confident Dr. Jane Lewis has a thriving psychotherapy practice, her own radio talk show, a beautiful old Louisiana mansion, and her affectionate, nutty dog, Olive, to keep her company. The only thing missing is someone to share her life.

Embarrassed I listened to the end … just kept thinking might get better … it didn’t. Juvenile and ridiculous…

Historia
Tragedy flips Amore Brown’s world on its axis right before she heads off to college. Having to sit tight for the summer, she chooses Jersey City, New Jersey - the home of her estranged father - to pass the time. Here, in urban grit, a stark contrast to the comforts of suburbia, she reconnects with a long-lost cousin for some final months of summer excursions, enrooting, and evolving. But it could never be that simple, even if it were all so simple then.

Historia
My mom would never leave me. This has been Mariah Dunning's motto. Her compass. Her belief. So when she glimpses her mother—who's been missing for the past year—on the other side of a crowded food court, Mariah's conviction becomes stronger than ever. Or is she losing her mind? When Beth Dunning disappeared without a trace, suspicion for her murder—despite the lack of a body or any physical evidence—immediately fell upon Mariah's father. Until Mariah stumbles upon two other recent disappearances from Lakehaven. All three women had the same name: Beth.

Basic premise had great potential but overload of characters and ineffective transitioning between past and present made it a less than enjoyable experience … won’t be looking for a second from this author.

Revisado: 12-21-22
Really the most uninteresting book I’ve read in years … poor character development, poor construction, story basted together rather than sewn! There are so many rich, inspiring and moving stories out there on aspects of ww2 … this comes in a very distant last place … Don’t waste time or credits on this one….

What a slog!
Revisado: 11-19-22
Oh my … could have been written in half the time if the author had refrained from describing every meal eaten by the main characters and inserting non interesting details about the characters’ eccentricities (ie: unlawful parking)! So many suspects with so many dead ends it became almost laughable! First and last Rachel knight book for me …

In a Cape Breton family of black sheep, Mary is pure as the driven snow. She is patient and kind with her alcoholic grandmother and volatile mother, loyal and attentive to her spoiled cousin, and pleasant and polite all day as a grocery cashier. Her well-off aunt, the only other normal person in the family, wants to help her more, but Mary’s mother is too prickly and proud. So Mary goes to work, comes home, takes care of her family, and wonders if there’ll ever be more to life.

Narrator ruined it!
Revisado: 09-26-22
Decent enough story with good character development but the narrator made it almost unbearable to listen to. I felt like I was listening to a grade school student practicing for the class play. The voice affected for Peggy was ridiculous!
