Historia
When Muslim fundamentalists blow up a key Soviet oil complex, making an already critical oil shortage calamitous, the Russians figure they are going to have to take things into their own hands. They plan to seize the Persian Gulf, and more ambitiously, to neutralize NATO. Thus begins Red Storm, an audacious gamble that uses diplomatic maneuver to cloak a crash military build-up.

Revisado: 02-18-24
As we become more aware of current events in this year 2026, has anyone come to the conclusion the global stage is being set for next World War? Red Storm Rising 2025.
A report from the North Atlantic: A large convoy which had sailed from the East Coast was transporting an entire division of reserve infantry troops, vehicles, APCs, Tanks, mobile radars and food and medical supplies for 3 weeks of combat in Germany against the Russians. A US frigate working to escort in cooperation with a Royal Navy frigate detected a target off the coast of Nantucket and near the wreck of the Andrea Doria. Both frigates launched helos to investigate. They used sono bouys and dipping sonar to eventually determine the target was a Russian submarine which was silently laying in wait. The US Navy helo was armed with one torpedo which would have been useless in the shallow 200 foot depth water but the Royal Navy helo was loaded with depth charges and initiated the attack. The russian Victor submarine was destroyed without having fired a single torpedo at the convoy group. The convoy is now continuing on towards Europe.

Historia
It has been 40 years since the publication of this classic science-fiction novel that changed the way we look at the stars and ourselves. From the savannas of Africa at the dawn of mankind to the rings of Saturn as man adventures to the outer rim of our solar system, 2001: A Space Odyssey is a journey unlike any other.

2001 is one the most fascinating science fiction stories of all time.
Revisado: 11-16-23
2001 is one the most fascinating science fiction stories of all time. Clarke's vision of history, the present and the past, seems to be accurate as beyond repoach. but his fictional story of the future and first contact with alien life is fascinating and highly accurate in terms od technology and human behavior. This is the type of book you won't want to put down. I don't like using cliches, but this is a page turner in the audio format. I highly recommend this book to anyone. Not just science fiction enthusiast.

Historia
Neil Hansen began his aviation career as a pilot for Teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa. He spent more than a decade in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War as a captain for Air America, the CIA's airline that operated there during the Vietnam era and the Secret War in Laos. Neil reveled in the risky flying that fed his adrenaline addiction. Upon returning to the States, ultimately unable to find work and unable to let go of the Air America exhilaration rush, he saw the profession he loved come to an end when his trajectory veered off course.

I could not stop listening!
Revisado: 01-07-23
This is an excellent aviation book narrated by author himself. As he reads, you will hear the authentic emotion in his voice. It's the personal biography of a CIA pilot who flew in Southeast Asia during Vietnam war.
I became immersed in his detailed descriptions from the pilot's seat as he flies various cargo on CIA covert missions. Being a pilot, and having been a passenger on a C-123 Provider in the 1970s, I was familiar with this plane as he described it's operation and various virtues.
This book is also a historical piece about US government secret involvement in Laos, Cambodia and vietnam.
A highly recommend this book.
