Omg 1 million stars. I’ve been working my way through Elsie’s books and this has been my favorite so far. Rhys and Tabby both had really heartbreaking backstories which added so much depth to this book. I love a strong, badass woman and a broken MMC. There were so many emotional moments and I absolutely ate it all up.

We need to talk about the audio of this book. While if given the choice, I will always pick duet narration, this book had one of the best dual narrations I have listened to. And I listen to a lot of romance. Samantha Brentmoor was perfection. And Jason Clarke. He is one of my top narrators (so I’ve listened to him a lot) and this is his best performance yet imo. Do yourself a favor and enjoy this one in your earholes, you won’t regret it ❤️

I am a big Sadie fan. She blends plot and spice in a way that feels authentic to me. This was her first foray into romantasy and I ate it up. The plot was a little predictable at times but I didn’t mind because the narration was so fantastic. This group of narrators did an amazing job bringing the characters to life.

One of my fave audios that I go back to again and again. The angst, the spice, the narration ::chef’s kiss::

Quicksilver by Callie Hart

3.5 ⭐️

This book was a mixed bag for me. I felt like the plot really dragged at times, to the point where it was hard to keep going with the book. I get it, there is always a lot of world building in book 1, but I was bored at times. I also felt that the plot was pretty predictable, with the same tropes that have been done in this genre over and over. Also, there were things that I just couldn’t get past that were flat out copied from other popular romantasies. The mating bond snapped into place? Among other things.

I enjoyed the banter and tension between Fisher and Saeris. The chemistry between the two was hot, if you can look past him being a total 🍆 to her at first.

What really saved this book for me was the audio. Stella Bloom’s performance was fan-freaking-tastic and while I thought that Anthony Palmini’s Kingfisher was at times a little too growly, I thought he did an amazing job with different voices and accents for all the various characters.

This Meghan Quinn romcom had me feeling all the feels. I laughed out loud, I cried, and I swooned. Was the story far fetched and a little ridiculous at times? Sure. But it made for some comedic moments that I ate up. I enjoyed both of the main characters. Posey was a complete dope of a golden retriever, with a dirty mouth and a little sprinkle of k!nk. He is over the moon for Wylie and I found their love to be so sweet. Wylie was a normal 22 year old, trying to forge her path in the world and prove herself to her dad. What truly made this story though was the narration. Teddy Hamilton can do no wrong imo but had a lot of depth in this one. And Emma Wilder’s performance was really great- there was crying, ::noises:: just so good. Loved the full cast, honestly wish there was more of them in the story. Overall, definitely listen, don’t read this one.

4.5 stars. My favorite Lauren Blakely yet!

Slow burn, marriage of convenience, friends to lovers, he falls first, “my wife,” mental health rep.

Asher and Maeve are best friends who make a marriage pact. Two years later on a trip to Vegas, he suggests they get married basically to give her a dopamine boost. They plan to get an immediate annulment but it turns out that their marriage is mutually beneficial for both of their careers. Asher realizes that he has had feelings for Maeve for a very long time. Cue the tension, angst, and pining.

Asher was a favorite MMC for me. His character seemed very authentic- he knew what he wanted and did everything he could to get it. He was bossy, funny, but mostly just so sweet. He struggled heavily with anxiety and intrusive thoughts and I felt it was written in a very relatable way. Maeve is mostly just a ray of sunshine. Maybe she’s not the most introspective but she gets there in the end.

I loved this story for the MMC mostly. There were moments when I swooned and moments where I laughed out loud.

I listened to the audiobook and the performances of Rob Hatchett and Vanessa Edwin were incredible. I definitely recommend giving this duet narration a listen.

Ensnared is a very spicy RH story set in a post-apocalyptic world. The FMC is Eden, a mousey yet indignant librarian who has been surviving on her own in a war-torn world. She winds up making a sex pact with 5 gorgeous and kinky military men in exchange for food, shelter, and safety. Much angst is present as the characters explore their past trauma and present relationship dynamics. The audiobook is done in duet and multiple POVs. The quality of the narration from an all star cast really brought this book to life. I could listen to this group of male narrators all day. Expect lots of growly dominant men with some suspense and violence thrown in. The tension and sexiness is ::chefs kiss:: Some heartbreakingly sweet moments and funny interchanges break up the story. Ends on a cliffhanger.
