Ugh. Too many characters. Not enough action. And the end took off into Incomprehensionville. Just didn't care.

Loved it!!! Easily the best I've read since We Are Bob. Ray Porter once again demonstrates why he's the best in the business. Andy Weir's best work yet.

Boring. Preachy. Talks down to the reader (listener). Intellectually lazy in parts. Reading the encyclopedia would have been more interesting.

One measure I use about whether a story is successful is do I care what happens to the characters. A resounding no.

I was a little hesitant to purchase this book. The subject matter really intrigued me: How could anyone survive at sea for 438 days? And how interesting could a story about a man adrift in the middle of the ocean be?

Was I wrong! The book does a great job of mixing the mechanics of survival with the subject's state of mind. Well done!

I was expecting more insight into the role of drugs in our society, but it was 90% autobiographical. I enjoyed his incredible story, but it wasn't what I expected.
