Historia
The six exquisite stories in Natural History are set largely in a small community in central New York state and portray some of her most beloved characters, spanning the decades between the Civil War to the present day. Told with Andrea Barrett's characteristic elegance, passion for science, and wonderful eye for the natural world, the psychologically astute and moving stories gathered in this collection evoke the ways women's lives and expectations—in families, in work, and in love—have shifted across a century and more.

Sooo many different characters
Revisado: 04-04-23
This book could have so good, but I was lost. Too many different characters. In one chapter 50 names were mentioned. Sorry I used a credit on it.

Historia
Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Superhero of a book
Revisado: 12-28-22
This book is amazing. Laughing, crying and cheering all at the same time. My new favorite book. Congratulations Barbara Kingsolver. I don’t know how a middle age woman could write a book about an orphan boy but this book is a 10.

WOW
Revisado: 08-22-12
The story involves you immediately and you want more - I loved the quick, witty, conversation - I loved the story from 3 different points of view and I really loved the southern charm that the author brings to the performance. Buy it, you will not be disappointed.

Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

MY MOST FAVORITE BOOK EVER
Revisado: 11-05-06
5 stars is not enough - 10 stars - this is phenomonal! Wow, I mean WOW! Do not be fooled by the Young Adult catagory - I have been listening to books for a long time and this is the first time I have been so moved that I needed to write a review. Why is this not on the Best Seller list? I loved it more than the Kite Runner. READ THIS BOOK!
