Historia
Gary Paulsen’s slapstick tales capture the “wonderful madness” of growing up in a small town in northern Minnesota, when high spirits, showing off for girls, and general idiocy led Gary and his pals to attempt some amazing stunts! Wacky, daring, just plain nuts - extreme sports lead to extreme fun in new stories from Gary’s boyhood.

Historia
Dirk Struan rose from humble beginnings to build Struan & Company, also known as the Noble House, into the world’s largest Far East trading company. He is now the Tai-Pan—Supreme Leader—of all Tai-Pans in China. Along the way, however, he made a powerful enemy. Tyler Brock, Struan’s rival from their early opium-smuggling days, also heads a large trading fleet, second in size only to Struan’s. But it is not only silks and spices that drive their mutual companies’ wealth—the opium trade is still booming.

Amazing narration. one guy makes at least 6 very different voices. You feel like you're there, what it would have been like to be on a merchant ship or fighting off pirates.

Historia
Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.

Fun but simplistic at times
Revisado: 08-21-22
main character is a likeable kid with ADHD. There is some middle school drama, but not as excessive as in Harry Potter or many coming of age books. plot twists keep it interesting. The repetitive combat with relatively predictable monsters was a little annoying. otherwise a great book.

Times are changing in Pickax, and it all makes for some newsworthy notes for the "Qwill Pen". A new senior center is in the works, and a frisky production of Cats is set to delight Moose County residents, human and feline alike. Polly Duncan is off to Paris, momentarily leaving Qwill without a companion for his apple-barn concerts, and The Librarians Who Lunch are getting read to put on a show of their spectacular Art Hats to help unite Pickax with its Lockmaster County neighbors.

the story was laid out without mystery or suspense, then it was abruptly over. weird that a middle aged small town woman would leave everything for a big city over seas. the cat who series is all too silly after a while. but there were many I really liked

Historia
Autumn has arrived, and the citizens of Pickax find themselves amid a clamor of activity. In addition to the opening of its latest theatrical production, the town is celebrating the dedication of a new bookstore and park built in memory of Pickax's beloved bookshop owner Edd Smith. Columnist Jim Qwilleran, participating in the festivities, is also busy with his latest book project: an account of a uniquely historic guest residence, the Hibbard House.

not the best cat who book,
Revisado: 07-18-21
Most of the book was build up of background information or small town tidbits or trouble with quill and polly's relationship. in the last couple hours, important details related to the mystery about characters the reader is unfamiliar with. then suddenly the climactic action occurs and it's all over. if you like stories about quaint north woods Great Lakes small town characters, you will like this series. As mysteries go, it is often hard to get a bead on what is going on until it is all suddenly revealed in The Cat Who series.

Historia
The Expo begins with a literal bang: a bomb wrecks the hotel, killing a housekeeper and causing extensive damage. Luckily for Pickax, Qwill is on the scene, his moustache twitching with suspicions that this bomb was intended as something stronger than a warning to someone. His evidence: Koko and Yum Yum's new interest in cheese, especially Gruyere, Brie and Feta. Qwill and the Siamese are on a case that will demand all their feline intuition and mustachioed insight!

Revisado: 04-16-21
I like this series because of the setting and all, even if it is a bit cheesey. In this book there are a couple new characters. As always, the reader really doesn't have enough information to put the mystery together until close to the end, but in this one the story is developed and you have enough info to have some idea before the solution is suddenly revealed though the details had only been in Qwilleran's head like in others in the series

the loveable, if cheesy characters of Moose County are back for another murder mystery and Qwill finds a new exuberant undercover female agent. the characters are pretty one dimensional as always, but in modern chaotic times, this feels kind of quaint and cozy. i like that in this one the crime ring is a little more believable and complicated

it was a fun parody of King George and the Dragon with a nod to Puff the Magic Dragon. I loved the narrator's voices but my 10 year old daughter struggled to understand the story because of the accents. I love a happy ending.

Historia
America's most beloved writer, Lilian Jackson Braun, author of twenty-four Cat Who... mysteries is now the subject of a mystery herself. In this spoof by one of her most ardent admirers, her beheaded body has been discovered in the men's room of a gay bar in Lower Manhattan. The police are baffled, and so it is up to Braun's eccentric writer friend, James Q. (Qafka), and his Siamese cats Ying-Ton and Poon-Tang to solve the ghastly mystery.

a great raunchy spoof of the cat who books
Revisado: 10-06-18
If you enjoyed The Cat Who books, but a times found them a little too picturesque, tidy, and contrived, and if you like sexually explicit humor, you will love this parody. I loved the grumpy old man New York Jews that were central to this story, a stark contrast to the genteel and proper characters in Jackson Braun's books.
