Historia
Renée Ballard works the night shift in Hollywood, beginning many investigations but finishing none, as each morning she turns her cases over to day shift detectives. A once up-and-coming detective, she's been given this beat as punishment after filing a sexual harassment complaint against a supervisor. But one night she catches two cases she doesn't want to part with: the brutal beating of a prostitute left for dead in a parking lot and the killing of a young woman in a nightclub shooting. Ballard is determined not to give up at dawn.

Story ok, narrator was not.

I found the story by itself was good. The narrator could have been reading the phone book. It was just monotone and boring

Historia
Ryder is the hardest Montgomery brother to figure out - with a tough-as-nails outside and possibly nothing too soft underneath. He’s surly and unsociable, but when he straps on a tool belt, no woman can resist his sexy swagger. Except, apparently, Hope Beaumont, the innkeeper of his own Inn BoonsBoro.... As the former manager of a D.C. hotel, Hope is used to excitement and glamour, but that doesn’t mean she can’t appreciate the joys of small-town living. She’s where she wants to be - except for in her love life....

I loved these three books about BoonsBoro and the Montgomery family. Really lovely stories and so relatable and believable.
MacLeod Andrews is a great narrator, I've listened to him before and really enjoy him. I recommend these three books wholeheartedly!!

I did not like the profanity in this story, I didn't listen to that much of it because of that. I also found a lack of story....like someone in high school would write. Not for me.

I found an envelope in the mail. No return address. My name on the front, my address. Inside was a check, made out to me, in the amount of 10 thousand dollars. Enough to pay the bills and leave me some left over to live on until I found a job. Enough to let me focus on classes. There was no name on the check, just "VRI Inc.", and a post office box address for somewhere in the city. No hint of identity or reason for the check or anything. No mention of repayment, interest, nothing...except a single word, on the notes line: "You." Just those three letters.

Historia
Two days before Christmas 1996, the broken, battered body of Sophie Toscan du Plantier was found outside her vacation home in West Cork, a serene region on Ireland’s idyllic southern coast. Decades later, no one has been charged with the murder, but the aggrieved inhabitants of West Cork are convinced they know who did it - and he still lives among them.

Will we ever know who did it?
Revisado: 03-16-18
What made the experience of listening to West Cork the most enjoyable?
I enjoyed all of this story. I could follow the line of what happened and almost from the beginning I didn't think they investigated enough. I know leads were few but they really honed in on Ian Bailey.
What did you like best about this story?
Jennifer Forde and Sam Bungey did a fantastic job of bringing this murder investigation home to me. I hadn't heard of it before and thanks to Audible making it available I listened to it. Thank you Audible.
Have you listened to any of Sam Bungey and Jennifer Forde ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not listened to them before.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I was sad that this woman's life was taken and there are still no answers. I think due to no real leads they really concentrated on Ian Bailey. Yes, he could be violent and he was a very different sort of guy but that doesn't mean he killed her. Will they ever find out who murdered her? I hope so for her family's sake.

B O R I N G
Revisado: 01-28-17
What would have made Assault and Pepper better?
More happening in the story. I got tired of hearing about what spices went with what..where is the meat in this story.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Something with more action. If it's a murder mystery then make it interesting.
What about Dara Rosenberg’s performance did you like?
I enjoyed the reader. I thought she did a good job. She wasn't the problem with this book, it was the story itself.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Assault and Pepper?
Too many to mention.
Any additional comments?
Judging by this book, I'm not likely to listen to any more of this author's books. Sorry.

Loved the story, author and narrator!!
Revisado: 09-02-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Truly Madly Guilty to be better than the print version?
Have not read it but to me listening to it is the best, you get the accents and more of a direct impression of the character. Some books I can do either with but not this one. Listening adds so much.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I never pick a particular character, all of them add their own essence to the story.
Any additional comments?
I have never been disappointed with Liane Moriarty's books and the same goes for the narrator Caroline Lee.

Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favorite?
I enjoy Scott Brick. Have listened to him as a very sarcastic character in Nelson DeMille's books, great character. I like what he brings to the characters he portrays.
