Historia
Nonny Frett understands the meanings of "rock" and "hard place" better than any woman ever born. She's got two mothers, "one deaf-blind and the other four baby steps from flat crazy". She's got two men: her husband, who's easing out the back door; and her best friend, who's laying siege to her heart in her front yard. She has a job that holds her in the city, and she's addicted to a little girl who's stuck deep in the country.

Excellent Book!
Revisado: 09-20-09
This is the third of Ms. Jackson's works I have had the pleasure of reading. I enjoyed the diverse characters in this book and the parallels they shared with others in the book. In my opinion I did not feel the book was very predictable. The other narrates which makes you really feel how the characters are supposed to be. The feelings of Nonny being pulled in every direction really bring the story to life. Looking forward to more!

Loved it!
Revisado: 09-09-09
I was all too familiar with the opening of this book having been diagnosed with PCOS and on the verge of turning 30. I enjoyed the colorful language and the food descriptions the best. The ending was neat never read a book that did that before! Can't wait to now see the movie!

Isabel Gillies had a wonderful life -- a handsome, intelligent, loving husband; two glorious toddlers; a beautiful house; the time and place to express all her ebullience and affection and optimism. Suddenly, that life was over. Her husband, Josiah, announced that he was leaving her and their two young sons.

Adored it!
Revisado: 09-09-09
I loved this book because it felt like the author was a friend telling me about everything that had happened up until I met her. It was an honest and real look at divorce. I look forward to future projects.

I hope it wasnt as good because its abridged
Revisado: 09-09-09
It seemed like alot of information was missing to me. I was creeped out by Jordan immensely and the plot was very I Love Lucy meets Car 54 Where Are You? It was definitely not as good as her previous books. I do not want to spoil the book for anyone but it was just so utterly predictable.

As the club’s projects - an afghan, baby booties, a wedding coat - are pieced together, so is their understanding of the patterns underlying the stresses and joys of being a mother, wife, daughter, and friend.

not so predictable sequel
Revisado: 08-13-09
I very much enjoyed the sequel probably more so than The Friday Night Knitting Club because I had the ending ruined by reading a review on here! Anyway, on a picky note I was bothered that Peri's voice was different in this recording. She sounded very much like James and she kept Dakota's voice so very whiny but these are not the author's fault. I enjoyed that everything was wrapped up but it seemed very much like it was a checklist about what happened to everyone. Overall I enjoyed it though. I am not too picky about books as long as they are believable and keep my attention. I missed Georgia as much as the characters did!

Great Sequel!
Revisado: 04-21-09
I loved the book! Jennifer Weiner has such a good sense of humor and the book definitely conveyed that. The change in narrators was wonderful and assisted the story more than someone doing voices. It was not predictable which was great.
