Historia
Ellen McGarrahan was a young journalist for The Miami Herald in 1990 when she witnessed the botched execution of convicted killer Jesse Tafero: flames and smoke and three jolts of the electric chair. When evidence later emerged casting doubt on Tafero’s guilt, McGarrahan found herself haunted by his fiery death. Had she witnessed the execution of an innocent man? Decades later, McGarrahan, now a successful private investigator, is still gripped by the mystery and infamy of the Tafero case, and decides she must investigate it herself.

Not at all what I expected
Revisado: 05-22-21
I had heard an interview with the author and wanted to get the book after hearing about it from the author's point of view.
The author repeats the same information in just about evey chapter and there are hours yet to go. I have heard enough.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Starting to really like these characters
Revisado: 02-11-16
This is the second story in the King and Maxwell series. Although the story seemed a bit far-fetched, it is well written and keeps the listener's interest. I am hoping the next book in the series dives into the characters back stories a bit more. I find myself wanting to know more about King and Maxwell. The narration is better on this listen than with the first story. Not as many noticeable edits. At times the voices inflections blend together and I found myself relying on context to tell which character was speaking. Overall, a great listen!

Another good story from Baldacci
Revisado: 12-14-15
I enjoyed the story. and it kept my attention the entire way through. The presentation was a bit difficult to listen to at the beginning. The break between the chapters is so long I thought I had lost the audio. At other points the story line had a natural turn and the presentation ran the story lines together. Alll in all it was worth the listen.

Historia
In this wry take on the post-apocalyptic horror novel, a pandemic has devastated the planet. The plague has sorted humanity into two types: the uninfected and the infected, the living and the living dead. Now the plague is receding, and Americans are busy rebuilding civilization under orders from the provisional government based in Buffalo. Their top mission: the resettlement of Manhattan.

Drawn out and not enough of an interest to hold me attention. Might be a good story, I just am not able to get through the first part to tell.

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Took a While to Get In To It
Revisado: 07-17-15
The story itself is not all that original. A struggling alcoholic who has lost her job and fantasizes while on the train gets mixed up in a murder investigation. The concept follows other story lines avaialable, what is original is how the twists and turns of the plot come at you ever so slowly I eventually was unable to stop listening until I was done! The narrators are okay to listen to however I am not sure they added to the experience as some listens I have enjoyed.

Amos Decker's life changed forever - twice. The first time was on the gridiron. A big, towering athlete, he was the only person from his hometown of Burlington ever to go pro. But his career ended before it had a chance to begin. On his very first play, a violent helmet-to-helmet collision knocked him off the field for good and left him with an improbable side effect - he can never forget anything.

I expected more
Revisado: 05-16-15
I didn't love this book. I did finish it, however, it took a while to get over the poor quality audio and lackluster performance of the narrator. The edits to the audio are so recognizable that it is distracting. The voice inflections for the different characters is sometimes difficult to decipher as to which character is speaking. The story itself is just okay. I love the concept and have gravitated to the concept in several mediums, (i.e. TV, Movie and Books), however, this story drags on a bit long and after the 5th time hearing / reading about the main characters condition and how he got there, I found myself thinking "we get it, now move on". There was so much hype for this latest book from Mr. Baldacci. For me, however, it is not my favorite.
I do expect more from Audible. The quality of the audio was not acceptable and I am disappointing that I spent money on the audio book.
