Not a real Mafia book at all

this is no mafia story this is a watered down story... there is NO WAY a mafia syndicate would accept this and found it very child like. I have no idea what the author was thinking... she needed sex ... criminal element.... suspense but really fell flat. sorry but after listening to more than 600 books I feel this was clearly one of the bottom.... I have not listened to the authors other books this was my first. There is potential in this boo but a lot needs to change.

male narrator sounds drunk

the story was different and good. the male Narrator slurred most of his words like a drunk person very irritating and did not make the male lead the strong alpha male he was in the story. a couple of parts also seemed wrong when SPOILER their son is kidnapped and the parents are tired so just go to sleep... really???? would you not be concerned? just little things like that through out the book with a couple of WOW moments and the responses to them were wishy washy... the story line was good.

story writing was amazing kept you interested the whole time..can not wait to hear the next episode wow you have outdone yourself with this story. I only wish there were as many entertaining books like this!. not 1 minute was boring and the narration was suburb!

Not Worth It !

I have 100's of books in my libary but do not often review many, this one however I was unable to return and got my blood boiling. spoilers here..... firstly I was disappointed that is was such a YA book in the beginning and was relieved that it became a more mature book later, but WOW this mafia kingpin... whatever you want to call him was a weak pathetic man, firstly let me tell you he has Parkinson's disease yip ... he shakes continuously throughout the book he has other ailments he sees black spots all the time, he is dizzy most of the time and can't hold himself up and walk properly or remember anything that happened... maybe a bit of Alzheimer's not sure as I am not a doctor but think I am on the right track.... there was no mafia story to this weak and pathetic, I listened to the end to see if it was going to get better, but clearly not and therefore am not able to return this book. If you like wishy washy romance, then this is the book for you

Good storyline

this book was all over the place with a lot of jumping around so hard to follow... a lot of in depth information about trivial stuff but not enough info about the important stuff... really frustrated. I think the narrator had to go back and add in stuff you can hear it. quite annoying. and then it just ends. the storyline was a good Idea just fell flat though. struggled to concentrate on this one

good story male narrator is BAD

this was such a good story. but the male narrator ruined it. his voice as the male lead is good but the female voice ... oh my word she is between being drunk... sedated or high.... and dont even go to the sex scenes.... I cringed everytime he spoke. he should not narrate for a woman or other voices. his friends sounded like kids... and they were ment to be tough ruthless men.
